I have a 1-8" twist 270 Weatherby and I'm planning to load up a bunch of 170 grain Ballistic Tip bullets to test out. Any reloading data/info or other thoughts/ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I shot RL26 in my 8 twist 270wby with 170gr Bergers. I never get the accuracy I wanted.

Been shooting 150 ABLR with H1000 at 3300.

I think I'd go to the slow powders too . N570 , RL33 , RL50 , H870 , retumbo . this is the powder speed I'd be working in . let us know how you make out .

I suggest the popular 150gr Nosler Part in the 270 WBY it’s a hard hitter !

Nice shooting. The 270 Wby really needs an updated fast twist just like you did to take advantage of it's case capacity and launch heavy for caliber bullets. I have some 170 gr BT's for my 6.8 Western when it gets done. Looks like it will be an awesome load for you, congrats!

That's a fantastic load. What are you getting for speed and what barrel did you go with?

If you can, shoot one into the water jugs. I'm guessing you would find it in jug #5.

Awesome, good luck. Please let us know how it works out for you!

Have high hopes for that bullet in my 6.8 Western for all around use.
