    Quick load 3006; 150ttsx;

I’ve had good results with 150gr E-Tip bullets from my 308 Win. I get 3/4-1” groups at 100 yards. 50.5 grains of CFE223 gives 2940 fps from a 22” barrel, and is a little under the Hodgdon max. The primers from that load are nowhere near as flat as Nosler factory loads with the same bullet. I...

    Henry 45-70

Get your Henry and run some of these as your cast loads. Hard-cast, gaschecked, and 405 grains with a wide flat meplat. 42 grains of H4198, Starline brass, and CCI200 primers gets me 1825 fps from a 22” barreled 1895. Groups an inch or just under at 100 yards. It will penetrate stem to stern on...

    Load Analysis

It won’t drop off as much as one may think. You’ll probably be over 2950 in any weather you’ll hunt in. Great load BTW. 58.5 grains IMR 7828 gives a 5 shot .383” group with 130 grain E-Tips at 3154 fps. It works really well in my remaining 270 Win from what I’ve seen.

    Load Analysis

I don’t have Quickload but your what I would say at the upper range, maybe a little warm but not enough that I wouldn’t hunt with it. You’re not setting the world on fire, and I wouldn’t say it’s unsafe at all. I’m fine with the load. 7828 is a pretty slow powder and I use it myself. If Your...

    RL 25

A Hornady max book load gives an average of 3003 fps and .58” groups with a 175 grain ELD-X from my 7mm Rem Mag. The rifle has a 26” X-Caliber barrel. The load was worked up in 85 degree temps but shoots just as well in 30 degree weather but I didn’t chrono it again in the cold.

    New Remington 700's?

Ok, next time I say my factory trigger is as good as a Timney hit me over the head and bring me back to reality. I put a thin Timney Elite Hunter on the 700 and just wow. I have Timneys on a couple other rifles (bolt action and an AR) and guess I just got used to them, and spoiled. I was also in...

Springfield Armory 5” 1911 Garrison NIB

That is a really nice IWB holster. Who made it If you don’t mind me asking?

Springfield Armory 5” 1911 Garrison NIB

I wouldn’t say that. I have a brown leather holster without the hammer strap. I think I my prefer it to this one. This one is harder leather so is a little tougher to final fit. A little leather dye, rub mink oil in and yours will literally be like brand new again. I bet yours fits much better...

Loving the 7mm WSM - 322 Yard Heart Shot

Love me some RL23. It'll make 160gr Partitions touch at 100 yards with one of my 7RM’s. Almost as good with 140gr E-Tips. I have 12 lbs of it left so I’m ok right now. I think RL23 is the only Alliant powder I’d pay current prices for. Maybe.

    130 TTSX 300 win mag

Wow, whatever you shoot with a load like that will drop like struck by lightning.

Springfield Armory 5” 1911 Garrison NIB

I had forgotten how fun it is to fit an already “custom fit” leather holster so it’s right. Mink oil and a hair dryer have gotten it cured and moistened. Now it’s fitting to the pistol. It’s almost there. A few more days should get it there. I just think leather is more comfortable to carry.

    Range Report

Looks like you’re ready with all of them. I like the 45-70 load. 👍🏻

    NOS Weatherby Dies

I don’t think there are better dies available for Weatherby magnum rounds than their own early reloading dies. If Roy put his name on it you wouldn’t find better. Just my opinion.

Springfield Armory 5” 1911 Garrison NIB

Well I rescued another stray. NIB Springfield Armory Garrison 5” 1911. The Garrison really is a beautiful sidearm. The pictures I took don’t do it any justice at all. It’s the Firstline edition and comes with 3 magazines, cable lock, handsome factory box and soft case. It was coming home with...

Didn’t Need them But Couldn’t Resist The SPS Price

That was my dad up and down! He didn’t target shoot much at all with rifles. Called it too wasteful and would shoot a barrel out. I sure do miss him We would shoot skeet and trap till 4 shotgun barrels were red hot though. Lol, go figure. Man I scavenged a lot of shotgun shells to load for that...

Didn’t Need them But Couldn’t Resist The SPS Price

Same here for me but I bought another 250 anyway. I like the ET in my 270’s and the way things are going I might not see a reasonable price again. OMG I just sounded like my dad! I need help guys.

Didn’t Need them But Couldn’t Resist The SPS Price

Im not really surprised because it took a little time, but the130 grain E-Tips shoot very nicely in both my 270 Wins. One likes them .020” off the lands and the other likes .085” off. Both are 24” barrels and give 3125-3154 fps. Both give 3/4” groups off sandbags. The way my luck goes the POI...

Didn’t Need them But Couldn’t Resist The SPS Price

I got more banded E-Tips for my 270 Win. They were 131 grains and not 130, but they were also $15.97 per 50. The 130 grainers perform great in my rifles………..didn’t figure I’d notice that 1 grain difference. Jesus I’m bullet poor. Lol.

    270 Win

I prefer IMR, but either 4831 and a 130 grain bullet will get you a very accurate and speedy load that will work up to elk or moose depending on bullet flavor. 56 grains of Staball 6.5 gets between 3120-3130 fps in two different rifles shooting 3 different bullets. The 270 Winchester just does...

    Anybody use these

I’ve heard good things about Wolf ammo. It’s not Nosler Custom, but it’s not Tula either. I imagine their components perform acceptably. Possibly very well.
