Took a couple does this year in Wyoming with a 215 Berger out of my .300 Win Mag. MV is 2,991fps and this is my bullet of choice for my .300
Doe number one was at 290 Yards, and she dropped in her tracks. Bullet hit her in she shoulder caliber sized entrance, and exited in front of the off side...
When I had my ‘06 I would load it with 180AB, 57.0grs H4350 and a Fed215M primer, the magnum primer was not necessary but my ES and SD were cut in half when I switched to the 215M over the 210M. I see no issue in using a magnum primer in non conventional combinations.
Thanks for the info, and I will definitely post results. My experience with the 210gr ABLR showed me they’re sensitive to seating depth and they like a lot of jump, my gun shot them best with .100” jump. Doesn’t surprise me you had to jump them so far with your .260, thanks again!
Having a 6.5 Creedmoor built and am wanting to try the 129gr ABLR, wasn’t super thrilled with the 6.5 140gr Berger Elite Hunters my buddy used on antelope this year. This bullet intrigued me tho, anybody had any luck with it and H4350, H4831sc, or Varget? Thanks in advance!
Yes, I have had issues with Nosler Brass. I won’t use it anymore, virgin brass was cut too shallow and I couldn’t even put a primer in flush with the case head and same thing as you described, primer pockets loose after a couple firings. My advice, go to a different brand of brass because Nosler...
Got the Peterson .300 Win. Mag. Brass in and it is packaged excellently. Checked dimensions and they were all right where they should be. Weighed 50 cases and there was only .6grs variation in all 50, most were within a .4gr spread. No burrs, necks chamfered inside and out, flash holes drilled...
Scotty you get a tag on the western side of Colorado and I’d help you out as much as I can! I have a couple buddies that wouldn’t take much arm twisting at all to get out there for another hunt either!
We thought the same thing when we watched the video, that was my buddy with the creed. When we skinned it the shot placement was fine,my best guess was the bullet trace made it look funny. But who knows
Thanks guys, it was a fun trip and an excellent start to filling the freezer.
Those Berger's do leave quite a hole, and a 215 in a win mag is a little much for doe antelooe, but they were effective and if you get them behind the shoulder, actual meat lost wasn't that bad
Well, just got home from antelope with my buddy this year. Hunted wyoming with his cousin and had an absolute blast! Lots of animals, beautiful country, meat in the freezer and wonderful memories. My buddy and I had two doe tags a piece and his wife had one doe tag. I shot my .300 Win. Mag. And...
