I've got test loads started with H4350 from 40gr-42.2gr. Should hopefully reveal an accuracy node and possibly work up to find where it shows pressure. Hoping to get something around 3,000-3050fps.
Should be a fun gun to play with!

What powder charge are you loading? I just picked up that same rifle for my Dad and we're starting to work up some loads. He'll be trying the 105gr RDF initially.
I got about the best deal on a rifle I've ever got on this one. I'm excited to see how she shoots! He currently has a Leupold mark...
First attempt at a subsonic load. According to the book it should be around 1050fps. 212gr ELD-X over 7.5gr of Lil Gun. Hopefully I'll be headed to the range on Thursday to do some testing.
That's a lot of bullet in a little case!

Got a 300 blackout awhile ago and finally getting out to shoot it a little. Got a few rounds of factory through it and decided I'd do some hand loads for it.
Playing with the 110gr bullets at the moment. Loaded some 110gr Barnes TAC-TX bullets over 19.4 grains of Lil Gun. I have high hopes for...
I'm a second generation State Trooper and also work within our firearms program. I was lucky enough to have the opportunity when several of these old S&W 66-2's were recently discovered to privately purchase two of them. Long ago my Dad was issued a gun of this generation. I'm planning on...
I would be very surprised if they had 80 bags of blems that were 10 full grains off in weight. It's got to be either a misprint or they are coming out with a new weight.

Well, the young lady killed her bull and I secured permission to hunt on that ranch....unfortunately the elk did not return before the season ended and I couldn't locate them. The good news is that I also secured a place on the same ranch for a damage control cow tag if I didn't fill my bull tag...
Well today I took a sign from the elk gods.....up at 5 ate some breakfast, grabbed some fuel and headed out. Got about 15 miles out of town and my check engine light came on.....last time it did that it ran fine until I turned it off then wouldn't start. Being that I was going to a new area I...
Thursday update.....
So today was a very frustrating day. I woke up at 5am got dressed and drove out to the trailhead. On the way there I got to watch about 20 cows and calves run down the road in front of me in my headlights. But hey I saw elk!
I get to the trail and get my gear on and start...
Oh I forgot to mention in my update.....the bull that my friend's boy killed was with a 30-06 shooting the 190gr ABLR. The shot was at 37 yards quartering towards him and he put it right on the point of the near shoulder. Bullet was recovered from the opposite side near the tenderloin. Bullet...
Update from today.....
After a most miserable night of not sleeping I finally got up at about 6:30 as it was just getting light enough to see but definitely not enough to shoot. Grabbed my pack and headed out on the trail.
I was about 20 minutes behind the group of other hunters and my plan...
Well this will be a first for me. I've done plenty of elk hunting but almost all of it has been on private ranch ground. This year I'm hunting in the wilderness....
I'm camped at the trailhead. Ran into a couple of other guys that hunt this area every year and have it pretty dialed in. They...
Hopefully there will be a batch of blems on SPS in the near future.....I like to test with blems for potential to save some $$$

I know there are a lot of folks that use the 105 Berger hybrid. No personal experience but as long as you aren't planning on punching through both shoulders I'm guessing they would be plenty lethal.

Anyone know when these are supposed to get released? And anyone have any load data available? Trying to figure out if the increased speed with this bullet is going to be enough to overcome the decreased BC over the Berger hybrid I'm shooting from my Lapua out to the ranges I shoot....

Thanks gentlemen! I'm pretty proud of her. She's my oldest and is my girly girl. I have another daughter that's 4 that is my tom boy.... I was surprised at how much she wanted to go hunting....she didn't last long and was generally more interested in pretty rocks and old bones we found but it...
Last day of archery season here in Oregon. My 7 year old daughter had been begging to go hunting with me so I told her she could go today. She was so excited she could barely sleep last night and came in and woke me up early this morning saying she was ready to go! In fact she also got her doll...
