I'm also curious about the Peterson brass. Can't seem to find R-P brass in 260 anymore and I'm needing to replace my brass so it was going to be Lapua brass but the Peterson is a bit less expensive. I'll have to do some more digging and see if there are reports of durability and how many loads...
Agreed. I would much prefer a mrad scope as that's what I have on my bolt guns but I haven't found one yet that matched up with features I wanted better than the vortex. Please let me know if you have any suggestions on others.
My second choice was the vortex PST Gen II 2-10X32 FFP MRAD. But...
I've completed my build and have been debating what Optics to top it with....rifle is designed to be a 700 yard and in gun that will end up filling quite a few different roles but will primarily be a medium range capable varmint rifle. Working on load development but will likely be shooting the...
I picked up the hornady manual and it does have some very good info in it. Don't have any AR-comp but I'll look around for some. I'm also looking at other powders to try as well and it seems that with the heavier bullets power pro 2000mr, BLC-2 and CFE 223 all seem to give very impressive...
Thanks Polaris. I was hoping I could get away with not crimping. I will probably end up going heavier with either the hornady 75 or a 77gr depending on what shoots better but couldn't find anything better than the 68's locally so I'll have to order some. Just couldn't run a bunch of 55gr fmj...
Just got done building my first personal AR-15. Have used them for work a lot but never owned one not issued to me and subsequently never reloaded for one.
Purpose built to be a precision medium range rifle with an 18" barrel 1:8 twist.
Just loaded up some 68gr hornady bthp match in once...
Not great video since I was holding the range finder in one hand and my phone in the other but overall I'm extremely impressed with this unit!
Optics are clear...slight blueish tint to the glass but plenty clear.
Amazing how fast the range is returned...it's virtually instantaneous from when...
My dad and I both have the leica 1600. Optically the leica is better but not by much. The sig is plenty clear enough for what it is for.

You do use a free app on your phone to set up the specific information for your gun and load. After that you can use the app with the rangefinder if you want to but the rangefinder is stand alone and does not need the phone to give you the info you need. Range it and it will display range...
I'm curious why I see a lot of people, nosler included, using the 77gr in this cartridge rather than the new 70gr RDF? It's lighter than the 77 so you should be getting higher velocity with the same or better BC....what am I missing?

Hmmm that's interesting. Thanks for running that. Recorded velocity at a charge of 88.5gr was 3105, 3133, 3103 fps.
So looking at that quickload and what we're seeing I would estimate max load being around 89-90 grains?
Hoping to find a good accuracy load with a velocity between 3100-3150fps...
H2O capacity for a fired case is 101.5gr. Can someone run a quickload with that and 26" barrel, COAL 3.69", RL33 & 195gr Berger?

My old man decided he needed this to go along with his new custom rifle. It arrived today. I'll try and post a review when I get a chance to play with it. I think if it does what it says it will it's going to be a very valuable piece of equipment!
Stay tuned.....
