And when I get bored in the field I can just look at it to be entertained! I will have up to four elk tags this year depending on how everything falls out. I don't think I will have four elk tags worth of hunting time, but at least some options.
Between this one and the still coming 7...
Thanks all for your comments!
Dwh no pressure signs. I’m still about a grain below Ramshot’s max of 60 grains, but I would run out of case capacity first.
270elk I was also surprised about the velocity swing with my earlier batch of Hunter. I wondered if I got a weird batch, when I got it it...
I have killed bull elk with the 165 AB and the 180 PT. I observe the 165 AB is as effective as the 180.
I prefer the 165 AB in my primary 30-06, because the rifle loves that bullet with H4350. If you had a rifle you sighted in 4 years ago and every time you shoot that load it’s dead on, you...
I tried Ramshot Hunter in my 30-06 about 4 or 5 years ago and put it aside because I saw some pretty big temperature swings with it. Really that was because I worked up a load at 95 deg F in Louisiana and shot the same load over a chrony at -5 deg F in Kansas. That's a big temp swing for any...
I have seen more elk stop bullets than any other animal. That list includes Accubonds, Partitions, TTSXs, Sciroccos. All good elk bullets. If you are removing a bullet from a dead elk I wouldn’t worry about a pass through.
I have used a 30-06 with 180 Partitions, 180 Accubonds, and 165...
150 Scirocco, 160 AB, 160 PT, 175 PT, or 150 BT would be my first picks! If you put any of those in the right place you’ll have success.

I’ve had the regular Chargemaster for several years now. I like mine! The only better way to dispense powder is to put a case directly under a manual powder measure and dump, no measuring. I don’t have total confidence in that, but it’s fast! The chargemaster is a good way to dispense powder...
I think you picked a great rifle in an awesome chambering! That 28 Nosler should be about perfect for an open terrain Western cartridge.
Tough choice on the scopes. The Nightforce should be the most reliable but it has short eye relief. I’ve had poor experience with the Leupold VX-6s lately...
Nice! I keep thinking I “need” a Rem 700 CDL chambered in 7 Mag. Of course I would probably run a 7 Mashburn reamer in it.
Got any rifle pics?

I have a 6 BR myself, if I were to start again I think I would go with the 6 Creed. Both the 6 Creed and 6x47 are great rounds, but I would give the Creed a nod just because of the large rifle primer for potential hunting in cold weather. But for a pure target round the small primer pockets in...
