Tagging. Still working on my load but have seen promise with 140 ballistic tips and 41.5 gr. h4350 and 130 AB with 41.7 gr. RL17

I’ve shot a number of geese with my plain old Remington 11-87 premier. It is still my favorite shotgun for most applications. I picked up a used Browning Gold Hunter this year for solely waterfowl, so my wood/blue 11-87 didn’t have to get soaked on duck hunts. I have yet to take a duck or goose...
I am running H4350 with the 95 BT. It is above the published max in Noslers book, but shows no sign of excess pressure in my Ruger. MV is just above 3000. I have taken 3 deer now with this bullet and all have died with in 30-40 yards of where they were hit. One dropped due to a neck shot...
I had a CDS dial installed on a vari-x II last winter. I left it in MOA instead of sending in my data for the custom turret. I mounted it on my 243 and have just enough elevation adjustment to get to 800 yards. I have taken it to 800 several times and it seems to track reliably as far as I can...
I took a week off of work to hunt our late buck season here in Eastern Washington. It was a rather tough week only seeing a handful of deer and no bucks until day 6. Day 6 I had a spike stroll through the clear cut at around noon but never offered a shot. A couple hours later this guy came out...
I have yet to anneal Creedmoor brass. The past few rounds of development have all been once fired brass. But I do have a batch of 3x that i will anneal. Thanks for the suggestion! And yes, finicky is an accurate description!

I loaded up some more ammo and shot today. I went with 41.7 gr of RL17 and loaded 6 rounds with CCI200 and 3 rounds with BR-2 (hindsight: should have loaded 6 of each). I shot both types of primers at 100 yards and ran the CCI200 load at 200 yards. It appears as though using BR-2 primers helped...
I have tried H4350 with both 140s and with the 130s. Eldx will be my last ditch effort before I send it back to checked out. I shot a box of the factory precision hunter load with eldx and it was 1.25-1.5 at 100 but have not tried loading them my self. Mag box will slide up and down a bit with...
Scope and mounts are all good. I have one load that will do .75” at 100 but opens up at 200. Action screws are tight.

I typically don’t shoot test targets with the magneto speed attached. I figured I might as well try it this go around since I was clocking loads anyway. But I have always had the same concern with the effects on barrel harmonics with the magneto attached. With that said, I will definitely be...
Thank you all for the input! I will run some test loads around 41.7 and see what develops. Switching primers is a good thought, as that is one element I have not changed. The longest COAL I can get to feed with my mag box is 2.836 which is .023 off the lands based on my measurements with the...
I tried my hand at the “10 round load development” for the first time today. I picked up a Bergara B14 hunter a few months back and cannot seem to get anything sub moa out of it out to 200. I have tried 140 ballistic tips and accubonds. Now I’m working with 130 accubonds. Tried H4350 and Varget...
I run 35 Bergers and imr8208xbr in my 20” Ruger. I’m at around 3700 if I remember correctly and accuracy is good. They’re hell on coyotes as well!

When my girlfriend decided she wanted to deer hunt, I traded into a full sized Ruger American 7mm-08. I ordered separately a youth stock for it so she would have both options with the 22” barrel. The youth stock fits her well and she took her first deer with it last fall. Middle range load of...
I used to load that combo as my main deer load before I switched to the 95 Btip. I was around 42 gr for most accurate load in my Ruger, which was about middle of the road if I remember correctly. I shot 4 or 5 deer with them and never caught one.

I have a Ruger M77 MKII ultra light in .204 as my main coyote rifle. The .204 would be about perfect for what you want to do. I am running the 35 gr. Berger over 8208xbr at around 3700 out of the 20” barrel. 32 Vmax shoot well, are cheap, and would definitely hammer groundhogs!

Not since I developed the original load, which looking at my ammo box this morning, turned out to be 40.5 gr not 41. Seating depth will be next pending my next range session.
