I like to find a bullet every now and again. Id like to try some 120 gr'ers out of my 7-08 but can't find them right now. Maybe they'll show up in a few weeks.
Got thousands upon thousands of primers, several thousand bullets and and enough powder to scare the fire department should the house catch on fire, LOL, Im set for many, many years. However, if I see Big Game I plan on buying it.
My 280 loves IMR 7828 and 154 gr SST's. I found a store several years backs that was getting out of reloading. Bought every pound they had. All the same lot number. Got enough to probably last me the rest of my life.
Pic shows 57 grs but it's really 58.5
Ive got a pair of Lyman stainless steel dial calipers that Ive had for over 30 years. I know they are better out there but these have been all Ive needed.
This is exactly what I done after the last component shortage. When components became available I started buying. I have thousands upon thousands of primers, hundreds upon hundreds, if not thousands of bullets for my rifles and many, many pounds of powder. IMR 7828, Big Game, H414, Varget...
After the last component shortage I decided to not ever let it happen to me again. When components became available I started buying. I amassed thousands upon thousands of primers, bullets and many, many, many pounds of powder. Ive got enough to probably last me the rest of my life.
That'll do just about anything you need it to do! The Ruger American that I bought for my grandson, 7-08, is a real shooter! It carries a Meopta scope! The pic is from last Saturday! 150 gr NBT, 46.5 grs of Big Game powder, and WLRP, which is safe in my rifle! Not responsible for "your" use of...
Those Sierra bullets are really good for a conventional bullet, which IMO is all that's needed for any whitetail! Ive never used the 120 gr'er but I have used a few 140 gr GK's. Really good results..
The top pic is where the bullet came to rest, just under the hide!
Found these sectioned 7mm bullets!! They say the 140 gr and 120 gr share the same jacket!! Looks different! With these jackets being extruded I don't believe the 120 is a 140 jacket that is trimmed down. Maybe the same blank just doesn't get extruded to the same length. That would answer why the...
Im not saying that the coyote would not have had some migration into the area but according to our DNR the introduction responsibility sits squarely on those that illegally imported coyotes!
It's the same with feral hogs! These are not the same as Russian boars! Tame hogs that have got loose...
When thy are not native to "your" area you would learn to dislike them!! They got started, in my area by hound hunters importing, illegally, for running pens down through the years!
While I have no disdain for hound hunters maybe my dislike should be towards the illegal culprits that are truly...
I instituted an off season predator trapping regimen on my land about 3 yrs ago. So far it has been paying off! I have had better fawn and turkey recruitment from data off my trail cams as well as better hunting! I understand that elimination is not going to be possible nor am I trying for that...
If all you are "seeing" is .5 to 1.5 gr difference that is excellent consistency. All bullet have a "plus or minus" variation.
I have several hundred first quality, same lot .284 cal 140 gr Nosler BT's and some of those that I have weighed were a grain or a grain and a half off..
