Most of the ones I saw were roll overs, looked like troopers just marked them as investigated with police line tape and left the cars as a warning to others perhaps.
Breakfast with Dr. Mike.
Probably the highlight of my trip, Dawson Creek was near where I was hunting , got ahold of Dr. Mike the night before I left and we were able to have breakfast at Lee’s on my way thru town. Mike is very well known and highly regarded at Lees. It was very good to meet...
Stew, thankyou for the offer. I decided last minute to take an alternate route down to Oosoyos and from there home to Oregon. I arrived home yesterday at 1800 hours. Drove almost half the trip on snow. Absolutely astounded by the number of wrecks I saw. I had assumed folks in BC knew how to...
Been doing it for about 100 years, at least 50 for sure. Always have a roll of tape handy at camp and enough of a partial roll in my day pack to re-tape.
No available data but my logbooks I kept for my duty rifles would reveal no change in cold barrel POI. There is certainly nothing to worry...
What he said. I have lived amount refined folk, much prefer the neighbors I have, our sheriff is a ding dong however. We are one bad call from being all over the news.
Interesting thing about farmers and ranchers. Pretty much the same everywhere you go.
Well I'm surrounded by ranches, most homesteaded around the time of the civil war. There were some skirmishes with the Piaute, the old soldiers who fought the plains Indians and settled in the Blue Mountains thought the Nez Pierce the most feared warriors. They simply wanted to be left alone...
It has been quite a while since I toured through the Canadian Rockies. God went all out when he formed them. Travel was easy but a little slow. 60 mph was fast and what little traffic I saw had me convinced the RCMP wanted you to mind the rules. As a kid we travelled the Al-can several times...
Uncle something but it was very good. Seams like people are healing some but the devastation was incredible. Asked my waitress how folks were doing, she started crying.
That has been my experience as well. Stopped to eat in Jasper, the destruction from last summer's fire is incredible. Some folks working hard to build things back up.
Up early but waiting for light. Drove 548 miles yesterday looking at 472 today. The drive from Union County Oregon to CDA is boring, done it 100 times or more. From there North on 95 it just gets better. Took a little time at the border.
Mixed messages on the internet so I went with the...
I hunt with a mystery ranch day pack, handles an elk front ok. When I go back in I use my bull pack frame. Had it 20 years probably packed 40 elk on it. No longer do I carry two rear quarters but it will handle that kind of load.
Got both with me on this trip but I hope my guide carries the rear...
Made Radium Hot springs at 1700 hours, deer elk and moose all over the road, I'll stay here tonight. Don't want to stamp my tag with a ford emblem.
8.5 hours to Grand Prairie tomorrow. I'll leave at first light.
Woke up to the news that DJT will be president, this will be interesting.
Leaving at 0500 for Canada, figure to be in Lake Louise by late afternoon. On to Grande Prairie on Thursday start hunting moose near Spirit River on Friday. Seems like a lot of folks are threatening to move to Canada...

He has completed one #1 project for me and he will be doing one a year for the next six years. The young man is a magician with #1. I have the prototype 1/4 rib replacement he engineered on my 300 HH...
I’m not sure which was my favorite hunt. Possible the Nyala, Kudu was my nemesis for days, I think day 8 out of 10. The Eland was the best and toughest stalk. Almost an hour from first sighted to dropping the hammer.
