I am so envious Hodgeman, good for you. IF we can find a place to hunt I suppose coyotes, rabbits and squirrels can be hunted, but to hunt year round for big game and birds, how cool is that. How much of your hunt ends up on the dinner table--it sounds like you would never have to buy meat at...
April, one of the things I hate about having females on the forum, is they are too logical. When it comes to rifles ownership, men throw logic out the window. you know I am teasing you April.
I dont have as many as others here, so keeping them all "fresh" is not a struggle and do it do...
We did quite often when we were active members in the SASS.
I would have no problem doing so, if in a different country, especially like your example of shooting doves in SA. I would use a borrowed shotgun in a heartbeat to do that
thanks to all how contributed, appreciated. April, am I too old to be adopted ?
Fotis, since I am looking at one for the 340, perhaps I will follow your lead, thank you
Leupold was at one time one of "the" scopes to own. many liked them and their warranty --but then they seem to go through a time many were down on them---so who is the new Leupold
Glass, warranty, quality, dependability, and price
both--in general, the entire line that a company offers and...
thats great Scotty on both counts, rifle and son--congratulations to you and your wife ( I remember your wife when she was jokingly giving us a hard time on a different forum )
Rodger, good luck on your project. I am a "Bee" fan--not so much the 300, but the 270 and 340 for sure.
Glad you...
those are some big fish Bear.
Do you compete with bears for those fish in that area ?
Do you or Hodgeman have a picture of people "combat " fishing on the Kenai ? I saw a picture once and thought it was crazy
that is great Hodgeman. I have never had the opportunity to fish Alaska but would like to do so. I was able to go Marlin fishing once when on vacation and really enjoyed that.
Cole
Well said, and in a humorous way, but your point is well made and I agree.
I am, still in awe when I see either a Grizzly or Wolf in the wild and was fortunate to experience seeing both on our trip to Canada. I have never seen a Wolverine, but remember Hodgeman also mentioning them.
I...
I would like to hunt all the different breeds of turkeys but except for that I would never have the time or money to ever hunt some of the animals on the North America slam. Isn't some of the sheep breeds, like a once in a lifetime type tag. This would have been easier in the 30's and 40's I...
Hodgeman, Bear, Cheyenne thank you for the responses to my questions
Cheyenne--I am aware of how badly you and the other ladies were treated off the forum, on the forum and on a different forum. I remember how badly Aleena was treated way back when she posted pictures of herself with a...
very informative thread.
Guy you never know where a thread is going to go when you start one. This one jumped around a bit, but has a lot of info in it.
Look at the claws on that bear that was shot, thanks for the post Bear78.
Bear78 and Hodgeman, are you guys allowed to substance hunt in...
Dr Mike, Bear78. hodgeman, Cheyenne, thank you for the information.
funny how different places have different laws. I had never heard of the "locked car" law, but it makes sense.
Needless to say I envy you fellows and always enjoy your posts talking about trekking through bear country...

Dr Mike and bear-78, thanks for the posts
Hodgeman, Bear78, Dr Mike, Gil, Cheyenne, salmonchaser-----do you guys encounter brown bears on a regular basis ? Do you carry a firearm or spray everywhere you go ---a walk, a bicycle ride, fishing, duck hunting, etc, etc. ? Does your wife carry...
