We do use Weatherby ammo and have never had a complaint.
I have zero knowledge of any of the calibers mentioned April. Dewey has certainly come through for you, and hopefully Homeroz, ElmerFudd and Jamila will see your thread. Perhaps there are others here who have reloading experience with...
Dr Mike, Cheyenne, thank you
They are certainly huge animals and I would probably opt for the 45/70
thanks again for the thread Dr Mike, we dont get a lot of Buffalo threads
Dr Mike
This is only from memory, but I thought I remember Cheyenne saying that the "wood" bisons are larger and more aggressive than the "plains" bison. Am I remembering correctly ?
Do you have both "wood" and "plains" bison Dr Mike and do you hunt them or have in the past ?
BTW Dr Mike...
Gil, thank you. I did receive some information from the ladies and "it varies". Somewhat the decision of the Ph, more than the country. If you want to try to find it and finish it via bow, they will try ---but, your paying for this time, and to finish it with a rifle could be in your best...
Gil
I do not bow hunt but have an interest in doing so and I know you are very good at bow hunting and knowledgeable about it as well---so--
1. if you wound an animal with a bow in Africa can you use a rifle to finish him when tracking him ?
2. wrong place I know but since we are talking...

So far from the information I am getting from Jamila and April is that Zambia has some excellent sitatunga hunting--but--- those two are so funny. I know they are serious and they speak of these things like we talk about going to the store for a 6 pack of beer----They are...

First, let me say that after further investigation, I too am disappointed in why Jamila will not be posting on the open forum. She will be missed
However, I do want to thank both April and Gil.
April for the information requested by my wife
And Gil went way out of his way to assist us...

My wife and I are considering going to Africa next year instead of our annual Montana hunt
Two questions have come up in our, very early, stages of planning the trip
Which countries in Africa are considered safe countries for Americans to visit and hunt

Either way, thank you and I certainly agree
None hunted in our family and therefore it was not until I was in college before I was exposed to the hunting world and firearms. My wife's family did hunt and once we started dating, I was hunting and have been ever since. We try to travel west each year to hunt as we both enjoy hunting and...
