    .260 REM

My daughter has had excellent results with her .260 rem using H4350 and the Sierra 120gr Pro Hunter. This combination has been very accurate and consistent in her rifle and has been pure deer poison around here.

    RL23 in 25-06

bob, i've shot mostly soft points (Speer & Sierra) but have also shot the 110gr Accubonds as well as the 115gr BT's with good results. I really like the Speer 120gr Hot-Cor as well as the Sierra 117gr Pro-Hunter for deer and I have a cabinet full of both of those that should last me a lifetime...

    RL23 in 25-06

I've shot lots of different powders in my 25.06 over the years with good results and i've looked hard at RL23 as well as RL26 but I've never tried either. I've read lots of positive reviews on both so I know they work and work well. RL22 gets lots of recommendations because it just plain works...

    25-06....educate me please!

I've owned several different calibers over the years and still do but the 25.06 is no doubt my favorite caliber. I've owned several different rifles chambered in 25.06 which were a Sendero, Rem 700 ADL, Rem 700 BDL, H&R single shot, Rem 700 Classic and my current rifle is a Rem 700 CDL which...

Speer .264 120 gr Gold Dot

I haven't used them personally but i saw in the post (Speer Impact Bullets) that 1Shot used them on deer from a 6.5 Grendel with excellent results. The reviews that I've seen on them thus far have been positive.

    Speer Impact Rifle bullets

I really like Speer bullets, they have always shot very well for me and performance on game has been excellent. I have been shooting the 120gr Hot-Cor in my 25.06 for a very long time and have enough stored up to last me a lifetime and i'm glad I did. I was using the 120gr .264 in my daughters...

Swift Scirocco 2 load data 25.06 rem

I recently acquired a box of these from a guy who sold his .257 and I thought i'd try and work up a load for my 25.06. Problem is I can't find any load data out there anywhere for this combination. I was hoping to work with these during the holidays if I get the chance. I called swift Friday and...

    7mm08 120 prohunter flatbase

My daughter has been shooting the Sierra 120gr Pro Hunter in her .260 for years with excellent results on deer. Her closest shot was about 50yds and her longest has been around 240yds with most being 150-200yds. The bullet has always performed well and i've only recovered a couple and they were...

What a surprise with my 7MM-08

The Pro Hunter is a good deer bullet. My daughter has been using the Sierra 120gr Pro Hunter in her .260 for years with excellent results with both accuracy and performance on deer. I don't think you'll have a problem what so ever with it's performance on deer. Mike

    100gr vs 120gr in 25.06

Thanks everyone for your imput i do appreciate it. I have no problems what so ever with the 120's they have worked well for me over the years. I was just curious about the 100's because it appeared so many people were using them over the 120's. Like they say, if it ain't broke don't fix it and...

    100gr vs 120gr in 25.06

I see from different forums and articles that lots of people who shoot a 25.06 for deer use a 100gr bullet. I've always used 120gr bullets myself and the lightest I've used was 110gr. Is there an advantage to using the 100gr over the heavier weights other than velocity? I was just wondering am I...

    Opinions on Speer Hot-Cor bullets?

I'm a Speer Hot-Cor fan and have been using them for years on deer with excellent results. My personal favorite is the 120gr .257 Hot-Cor which sadly Speer no longer makes. I have about 600pcs on hand that I purchased when I was told they were going to stop producing this bullet so i'm good for...

Can I put a broadhead through a shoulder?

Guy, great advise already given. I shoot a 50lb bow with a 100gr Thunderhead and have zero problems getting pass throughs on deer. I always shoot low behind the shoulder and aim for the lower 1/3. If the deer ducks (and they always do) I get double lungs and if not I get heart. This has always...

25-06 stability of heavy for cal bullets

Guy, i too suffered from one of those attacks :), i sold a Rem 700 Classic that was an awesome shooter and if i had a rudder leg i'd still be kicking myself. I turned around and did the same as you and bought the CDL 25.06 and it has worked out very nicely for me as well. Back on subject ...

    Favorite calibers

I've loaded and shot lots of different calibers over the years but my favorite caliber without a doubt is the 25.06 followed by the 30.06, .260 rem and the .308 win. Its really hard to choose a favorite because I love them all.

    Leupold

I've always owned Leupold scopes and have had good service with them for the most part. However, I have had some issues (tracking) with the last several vx3's I've owned and it has been very frustrating. I have a newer vx3i and so far it's been good. I have an older vx2 that tracks spot on and...

    Scirocco & RL-17 270 wsm

Good looking load and some fine shooting to boot. I've never loaded any scirocco's but I would love to give the 100gr .257 a try one day in my 25.06.

    New Sierra bullets

I agree it's certainly good to have options and to see manufactures stepping up and producing different bullets. I have to admit, that 130gr .264 is interesting no doubt and would probably work well in my daughters .260. However, she loves the 120gr Pro Hunter and it's performance on deer has...
