6.5 mm 120 grain Sierra Prohunter??

I've been loading the Sierra 120gr Pro Hunter for almost 10 years in my daughters .260 Remington with excellent results in both accuracy and on game performance. She's harvested quite a few deer with this combination including some nice bucks. The majority of her shots have been between 100 -...

    Quality Time

Awesome!, building memories that you both will never forget. My daughter also started reloading with me at the age of 8 and is now 17. She loads all her own ammo now but I still supervise the process. It's a great hobby and one that your daughter can take with her the rest of her life. Well done!

75 grain vmax in the 25-06

I personally would never use a bullet designed for varmits on deer, not even small deer. It may have been done before and there may be some still doing it but I think we owe it to the animal that we're hunting to try and dispatch it quickly and humanely and to use a bullet designed to do just...

    25-06 Load'n

I would love to hear how those scirocco's perform on deer. I've read great reviews on that bullet. I've always had great results with rl22 but just recently bought a can of rl25 to try out with the 120gr bullet but am now curious about the rl26. Anyone tried the rl26 with a 120gr bullet?

    Speer 120gr Hot-Cor .257

I honestly don't know, I've never shot it thru a chronograph, mine stopped working several years ago and I never replaced it. The Speer manual says 2931 fps but that's the manual, I know to get the true velocity I need to shoot it through a chronograph. It's been a very good load over the years...

    Speer 120gr Hot-Cor .257

Not a test but I thought i'd share. This is a Speer 120gr .257 Hot-Cor that I removed from a deer that I shot recently. I've been shooting these bullets for many years from my 25.06 and their performance on game has always been excellent for me. This is the first one that I have ever recovered...

    25-06 Load'n

That Sierra gameking should do a fine job for you. I've used the 117gr pro hunter in the past with good results, it was both accurate and put deer down quickly. Lots of good bullets out there to choose from for the 25.06 and they all work and work well if the shooter does their part. My go to...

    Nosler Brass

I use to use nothing but Remington brass until it became impossible to find. Instead of jumping around trying different brass I decided to pay a little extra and purchase some Lapua for my daughters .260. The Lapua has proven to be top quality brass and has worked great for me, very tight specs...

New 6.5 120 "Brown Tip" Ballistic Tip?

I have some in the cabinet that I purchased a while back for my daughter's 260 and they are brown.

    25-06 RL26 Swift Scirroco

That's a great looking load and smoking fast, not to mention ..... some fine shooting. Would like to hear how it performs on game for you. Seems I heard and read somewhere that the Scirroco opens up a little faster compared to some of the other bonded bullets out there but I may be mistaken. I...

    Primers

I use Winchester large in my 25.06, CCI 200 in my daughter's .260 and Fed 210 in my .308 LTR. I have some Remington in the cabinet but to my knowledge I've never even tried them before and don't even remember buying them. I plan to try the CCI's in the 25.06 and .308 but I haven't gotten around...

    .260 Rem vs. 6.5 Creedmoor

I have no experience with the creedmoore but quite a bit with the .260. I started my daughter out at age 8 with a .243 then quickly moved her up to a Model 7 .260 at age 9. She used that rifle for 5-6yrs and shot it very well and harvested some nice deer with it. I purchased her a Rem 700 SPS...

    IMR 4320

I tried it a while back in my daughters Rem 7 .260 with the Sierra 120gr PH and it worked well for us and produced some very good accuracy in that particular rifle. I still have a couple pounds in the cabinet but I haven't used it since. She has a Rem 700 sps .260 now and we had planned to try...

    .25-06 do it all?

I've been shooting the 25.06 for over 25yrs and although the only thing I've killed with it are deer and yotes I wouldn't have a problem what so ever shooting the game you mentioned with it. I'm sure it will get it done. I always look forward to seeing your pictures. Good luck!

    Working on a .243 Win

Impressive group for sure and some fine shooting. I have a friend who uses a .243 as his go to deer rifle and he uses the Nosler 95gr BT. It's very accurate in his rifle and on game performance has been excellent for him.

    Rem 700 SPS/CDL .260

This is my daughters Rem 700 SPS .260 that we've converted to a CDL. When I bought the gun I removed the plastic stock and replaced it with a H&S Precision stock that she eventually confessed that she didn't like. She said that she wanted a wood stock like she had on her Model 7 CDL that we...
