Lots of good info and I appreciate the feedback. I recently picked up a couple boxes of the 115gr partitions for my 25.06 that I plan to work with as soon as I get the time. Thanks! Mike
I just ordered a couple boxes of the 125gr AB's from Midway to try out in my .308 LTR. I recently shot my first deer with the 125gr BT with the same rifle and it performed excellent. I have full confidence in the BT i just wanted to give the AB's a try and i have no doubt that the results will...
I just recently harvested my first deer with the 125gr BT from a .308 and its performance matched what others have said. The shot was 175yds broadside just behind the shoulder through the ribs and out. The entrance hole was bullet size with a 2 finger exit and the insides were complete mush...
I've ordered from them several times over the years with positive results but it seems as of late they've been out of the things I need also. I still keep checking though.
I was just going over some data and am curious as to why nosler makes 2 partitions in .25cal so close together in weight and why and how does a guy choose one over the other? I know the velocities would be higher with the 115 but are there other factors to consider with the 5 gr +/- difference...
I can't imagine having to deal with some of the temps that you guys have to handle. It's going to be 50 degrees here for a high Friday, man that's cold for the southeast. Stay warm!
Great post and some awesome groups! I recently picked up my first .308 and this thread is very encouraging. I haven't had the chance to work with it much as of yet but after reading this and looking at the groups i'm ready to start. The only bullet I've tried so far is the Nosler 125gr BT and...
I don't know why I want to mess with what's working but I have that itch that I just have to scratch :). I'm currently using the sierra 117gr ph and it shoots good and on game performance is good but I want to try something else and the Nosler 115gr is what i'm interested in.
Problem is I don't...
I'm using Win WLR in my 25.06. I use CCI in everything else but for some reason the Win gives better groups in the 25. I'm using Rem brass because I have a ton of the stuff. Mike
Welcome! I've tried various powders in the 25.06 with good results but RL22 has become my go to powder for the 115 - 120gr bullets. I do want to give Retumbo a try but haven't as of yet but I've heard great reviews on that combination as well.
Awesome pics Guy!, thanks for sharing. I have the same rifle and feel the same way you do about the gun. I replaced a rem 700 classic 25.06 with the cdl and even though I do miss the classic at times I have no regrets because I like the cdl better. I've taken deer and coyotes with mine and my...
