Who would have thought I would find my unicorn in my backyard of east Tennessee? Original owner from 2002, only 6 shots ever down the barrel, 20+ years in the back of the safe. I am beyond thrilled.

So this post set my mind spinning. Yesterday I pulled my rifle apart before tightening the screws ever so slowly by hand; I felt nothing touching or out of alignment. And tonight I borrowed my friend's dial indicator (what an amazing tool). I had a few thou of movement undoing the front...
Update - Thank you for all the suggestions. I did drill and bed pillars (1st pic), before bedding the recoil lug and tang (2nd pic).
About the third pic... Prior to bedding, this T3x shot 160s and 175s lights out. Didn't matter the powder or bullet. Crazy. But of course I want to shoot...
I picked up a carbon stock from Stocky's. Look at the recesses around the holes for the action screws. How should I go about bedding this? My initial thought is to bed just around the front recoil lug and around both recesses. If I choose to fill them in w/ compound I would need to cut...
Opening day was last Saturday. Here in TN - as in most of the southeastern states - they have moved Turkey Season back 2 weeks so as to get more hens bred. That certainly seemed to be the case last weekend; all the Toms gobbled once early, had hens come right to them, and disappeared. I...
BP - My backyard! Great pic! I am fortunate to live close enough to go on frequent day hikes during the year, including this coming Saturday. And to the rest of you, if given the chance do come. It really does look like the picture. Feel free to DM me if you care for options or suggestions...
I too have one. I currently use it on a T3x 7mmRM. I think I have had it three or four years. It is somewhat light, holds zero weekend after weekend (load development), the reticle isn't cluttered (I don't see the lower hash marks unless I mentally go looking for them), and I really like the...
My experience is limited, but with my 7mmRM I get spin drift starting around 500 yards. Then it depends on my bullet as to how large a group I have at 600+ yards. But up to 400 yards my MOA measurement is consistent from 100 yards.

I can add to some of this; and I too hunt in the woods where 75 yards is most likely out of sight, thick, and in need of tracking. I have shot every Hornady offering sans the CX and have never gotten the blood trail I do with Core-Lokts or Fusions. When finding this forum b/c I needed help...
Circling back a year later, and as reference for anyone who found this thread via a search engine:
I ran out of 160g AB trying to get .5MOA. (After that I did find a great load and seating depth for 140g AB with H4350.) By chance this year during deer season I got a bag of 160g blems and...
Here's a couple of pics. I hope the first one shows that the mouth is square and that the camera makes things look askew (note the base looking curved). Moreover, the second pic. In my bottom drawer I found some 220g .30-06 Core-Lokts from years back. They show the crimp pretty well. Again...
My apologies - yes I have noticed it prior but never got around to asking about it. I've learned I need to be much more precise with my problems on here. (There's a joke somewhere in there...) -B
Thanks for some more thoughts on this. So, the pic is misleading. I even thought about not posting it last night and taking a different photo this morn. The camera on my phone does make the right case look slanted, and slightly on the left case. But they aren't. (I don't want to start...
That was my first thought, but the ring/impression is not close enough to the top of the throat. I always trim, chamfer, and de-burr b/t firings. My guess is that some of the Core-Lokts were crimped and some were not. Again, many thanks to all for weighing in.

Deer season ended yesterday. Tonight I was cleaning 7mmRM brass (R-P, 5+x fired) and about half the rounds had these small grooves/rings around the top of the neck. What is it? My resizer? A chamber (T3x) that has something odd cut in or out? Please advise...

A bit more context: First, it has been freezing down here in TN. Freezing! Yesterday morning it was 32 and I went out to shoot him a doe. The only deer sign I have seen have been a long walk from the truck. I asked him if he would be willing to help me by pulling any deer I shoot up the...
I've never found a Nosler bullet in any of my game, but I had an experience last week worth commenting on. For various reasons I chose to hunt w/ 140g Partitions this year from my 7mm-08. They were leaving my firearm at 2840 ft/sec and were confidence-buildingly accurate. (43g Varget) I...
