Congratulations on a successful hunt.
One can't talk about a .375 anything without conjuring up dreams of Africa.
BTW, what was happening that your friends were having trouble with shot placement?
On a side note, a friend of mine shoots a .378 Weatherby, and it doesn't like boat tail...
My current 3 cartridge battery consists of:
.223 Remington
.308 Winchester
.30-06 Springfield.
If I were to choose a 3 cartridge battery based on what I wish for, it would be something like:
.375 H&H
.25-06
.223 Remington
Man, it's hard to nail down 3, once you start thinking about it...
It was the Pine Valley unit. Not too far from Beryl.
I've got some coworkers that have tagged nice elk on that SW desert unit.

I got my antelope this past weekend, using a 168 grain Amax from a .308.
Granted, this is only one case, but my bullet penetrated the antelope, shed its jacket and stopped at the hide on the opposite side. I was surprised that it didn't exit. It did liquify the organs and cause some minor...

Yeah. It dawned on me this morning that $25 plus the $13 app fee equals turkey tag ;)
I guess I gotta figure out how to find turkeys.

My first was a 30-06 Savage, I don't remember the model number. I bought it in 1992; it came with a cheap scope and a wood stock.
It was actually a very nice rifle compared to some of the tupperware that sells now. But, I became unemployed and sold it.
Since then, I've always wanted another...
I see a pending charge on my card, too.
I'm puzzled though, the charge is $25. That doesn't match what I put in for.

I used Gunzilla. I ran it through with a nylon brush about 5 times. Let it set for about 5-10 minutes then started pushing patches through.
I didn't get any blue on any patches. So either Gunzilla is a poor copper solvent, or I didn't let it sit long enough.
I do have some solvent...
Does this look like copper fouling to you?
I cleaned the bore, but I couldn't remove this discoloration near the crown.
I've got some copper solvent that I may try tomorrow.

Sportsman's Warehouse has the Tikkas on sale right now. Little under $500.
I wish they took used rifles 'cause I'd trade my American towards one in a heartbeat.
