Looking at the .458 300gr Ballistic Silvertip for my 45-70. Is there any adverse affects of the coating on these bullets. I have the reg. uncoated version and they shoot well in my 1885 @2000 fps. If that Rem 700 ML is one of the originals without any mods it likely will not handle BH 209. T-7 would be best.

Sounds to me like you need to fine tune the expander button depth. My dies are RCBS #20904 Start at the top and screw it down in 1/4 turn increments. My brass is Starline. 4198 is a great powder for the 45-70. I use the Lee Factory crimp die.

I'm loading a 270 Win. using RL26 . Ran a ladder test with both a Speer 150 Hot Core and a Nosler 150 BT up to 60.0 grains. Got a new Ruger Predator 6 Creed today. Fixing to order some bullets and would like to hear from anyone who shoots this caliber.Its a 1-7.7 twist. I'm especially interested in any of the 105's to 110's and if any would work on whitetails.

Has anyone tried to straighten/bend the barrel channel to even out the gap on each side by using a heat gun.Pretty drastic I know.

Anyone know why the RCBS 6.5 Creed dies are twice the cost of other calibers. Is there some gouging going on or is there something this caliber set has the others don't.

Anyone have experience with the TC Compass. The reviews look pretty decent and Cabela's is putting them on sale this week. Cheap way to get on the 6.5 wagon.
