i was very glad she asked to come. it's always fun to spend time with them kids.
she's funny as hell too, always laughing and joking.
her's a few more pics. those were taken on one of the first mild days last spring.
it was her first try at shooting in another position than on a bench, also her...
i was getting ready to go to the range last weekend to test a new load for the 223
when my 16 year old daugther asked what i was doing.
when i said i was eading for the range, she asked if she could come along.
of course i said. i have test to do with the 223. but you can shoot your mom's 260...
my load for the 7 wsm is 67 gr imr7828 @ 3100fps,coal 2.865", cci250 primers,win cases.
my uncle's 7rum is 93.5 gr. retumbo @ 3400 fps, coal 3.615", cci 250 primers, rem cases.
both average 3/4" in our guns.
my friend use factory rem load in is 300 rum.
they just told me the bear weigh 260 lbs...
my uncle just put the 150 scirocco to a torture test
last saturday night on a 400# black bear.
we've both been using this bullet for a few years, me in my
7wsm, him in is 7rum. his load average 3400 fps on the chrono.
the shot was 15 yards broadside. the exit wound was 2"
and from what he and...
hi!
a friend of mine wants load info to load the barnes LRX in is 300WSM using imr 4350.
i first recommanded i'm to contact Barnes via email, has i have always had quick answers.
but it's been more than a week.
can some of you with quickload help me (him) please?
thanks
That's what i use in mine with the 150 gr scirocco.
Best velocity so far @ 3125 fps for 67.5 gr. I got 3230 @ 70 gr. and great accuracy but primers were a bit flat. So i droped down to what i considered normal velocity for the bullet used in that caliber.
I tried H4350 first but couldn't get...
Really nice setup!
I have a Z3 in 4-12x50 and i absolutely hate it...
Now because of it, all my other scopes look like they're cheap
I always tought my nikon monarch was bright and clear. Now when i shoot with it after using the z3 i can't believe the difference, even in bright...
in my limited experience coal seems to make the biggest difference in group size.
last week i decided to play with my wife's rifle. for this gun i only tried 1 bullet, 1 powder, 1 primer, 1 coal. my wife limit herself to 250 yard shooting so 1.5" group was good enough.
so i set the coal to...
the groups with 25/ 2.300'' are the same load as last week
i also tried other col to see but i will stay with 25 gr 2.300'' and try to improve the operator:D
the fact that in the 3 groups using this load i have 3 shots almost in the same hole tells me that i'm probably to blame for the rest
went to try the rifle yesterday. looks promising.
i had to use h335 for powder, it's all i was able to find in stock.
so it's the 55 ballistic tip, loaded with H335 at 2.300" COL. with new winshester brass and fed 205 primers
groups were shot in round robin as asked by the OCW load method.
i...
i've only been reloading for 4 years and for 3 rifles. so my opinion is not worth much
but for me, in all 3 rifles, the longer the COL the higher the velocity.
in my 7WSM for example, three 5 shot groups have an average of 3085 fps @ 2.865" (.085" from the land)
the exact same load at 2.920"...
thanks everyone
i just passed the order, i will begin with 55 B/T, h4895, win brass, and federal primers.
i'll let you know how it turns out.
as for the reason for just one load, i lack the time to shoot as much as i would like.
so learning real life drop and wind doping for one load ( plus...
I didn't know much about the 69 smk. But after reading your posts i searched a bit and they seem interresting for my application. Only concern is terminal performance for hunting.
Do you think shooting pop cans and windshield washer jug, filled water, and watching how they react, would give a...
