Like others have said NAB seem to like a little jump and my loads with them are the same.
Start .015 off the lands and play with powders and charge weights. If that doesn't work I would seat to .075 off the lands and go from there, My .270 with the 130NAB shoots best .100 off the lands
He will employ two Bibles: the Bible Abraham Lincoln used in 1861 at his first inaugural ceremony and a "traveling Bible" used by the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.
In my 300WM I have now I can only get the Hornady 180 Spirepoint to shoot under an inch, Everything else is 2+ inches.
70.5gr H4350/CCI LRM primer/180gr Hornady SP@3020fps.
In my previous 300WM I used H1000 with 180-190 bullets and H4350 and H4831 with the 165 bullets
6.4gr powerpistol and CCI SRP with 180gr Speer gold dot is my go to load.
Out of my G23 with a KKM barrel I get 986 FPS.
Titegroup with a 180 cast is a good plinking load
That's not a typo, I use small rifle primer in my 40, Been doing so for about 10 years to keeps reloading components...
Benchmark meters way better then Varget and Tac is even better. H335 is a good powder also.
I use Varget in my heavy 68gr match loads and its a great powder for that
I use the 130gr Berger VLD for target and varmints in my 6.5 Creedmoor.
I was going to work up a load with either the 125gr NPT or the 130gr NAB for deer/antelope.
But now I'm going to wait for the NAB-LR and hope I get drawn for tags next year
I don't have dies but nice find.
maybe post a pic in the rifle section and tell us a little more about the rifle, twist, intended use.
Always likes the caliber......maybe one day
Unless you're in an area that you cant use lead bullets I would sell the Barnes and stick with the 200gr NAB.
That combo is as good as it gets in the 300UM
I'm not sure H100V is an extreme powder, it's listed under there spherical powders and doesn't say extreme on the can I have.
I guess I need to contact Hodgdon and find out
I'm running Re-25 with a 115 NBT(3150+ fps) and 120 NPT(3050 fps) at the moment.
I did play with Retumbo with the 115 NBT(3250+ fps) it shoots just as good and gives me higher velocities.
When I run out of Re-25 I'm switching to Retumbo.
I'm running a custom 26" barrel
I had that happen before.
I use a K&M primer tool that is similar to the Lee just without the primer reservoir, Seat the primer then rotate the case 180 degrees and push again.
Seems to work for me with really tight primers
Varget is a great powder for the Garand as is IMR4895, Hodgdon4895, IMR4064, BLC-2
The Nosler 155CC with IMR4895 gave me the best groups with Varget coming in second place
First off welcome to the forum...
The COAL used in manuals is just a guide and should fit most rifles out there.
The nice thing about reloading is you can set the COAL just about any place you want for your rifle as long as its safe and functions.
The powder charge is a high by 2.5gr in my...
