i started reloading a year ago for economy reason, and because i was not satisfied from factory offering in the 300 ultramag.
i ended up getting 3 times the accuracy ( .5" instead of 1.5 at best)
for 30$ a box of 20 instead of 70$
for my wife's 260 it's 14$ instead of 30$
yes i shoot a bit more...

my dauther's second crossbow deer.
my wife's 4x4 and my 6x3. my biggest buck to date.
my wife used her 260 with 120 gr. ballistic tip.
i used my 300 rum with 168gr. ttsx.
300 RUM
RL25 93.6 gr.
COAL 3.650"
barnes ttsx 168 gr.
H20 case cap. 115.2 gr.
barrel 24" (26" with drilled in break?)
i would like to see expected pressure
thanks.
Dr mike
do you see any difference in resolution between your conquests and vx3s
JD338
your right about going with 40mm. i was hesitating between the 2
but i can see clearly enough with my burris 40mm.till legal shooting time
its just that i cant see the stadia lines for about the last 15 min...
they look pretty much the same to me
the zeiss in silver and black would look awesome on my 700 lss
but it looks like the leupold B&C reticle would be easier to see in fading light when it counts.
somebody tried the rapidZ in low light?
the AB jacket being thicker than the corelokt i'm afraid i'll experience the same problem (underexpension.) is that a word? LOL!!!!
thanks for your input guys.
i'm looking to change my 3-9x40 burris on my 300 RUM
i want max power range in the 14-18 x
some kind of ballistic reticule
side parallax adjustment
objective 4- to 50 mm.
must weight below 20 oz
price tag in the 600-900$
so far i hesitate between the leupold 4.5-14x50 LR B&C ret.
and the zeiss...
thank you guys the 120 BT it will be then!
although i really doubt i will get 3000fps from it.
the 140 g. factory loads that are listed at 2750 only go 2550 in it.
and from what the primers look like, the loads look about as hot as i would care to go being a beginner in reloading.
so i expect...
hi!
i want to start reloading for my wife's rem. seven in 260 rem.
so far she's been using 140 corelokt at 2550 fps.
altough the load is accurate (ave. .75" at 100y), terminal performance
was poor in the 3 whitetails she shot with it. they all died but wound channel was very small.
so i'm...
i would like to do some expension testing with the barnes ttsx
to see how they would perform between 2100 and 1700 fps out of my 300
ultra. but it would be easier to load them in my 30-30 (single shot of course) and test at around 50-125 yard than at 600y with the big boomer!
what do you think...
i had good results with 168 barnes ttsx with 93.6 gr rl 25
coal 3.650. wlrm or cci 250 mag primers. average around .5 -.6"
i shot a 10 shot group saturday just for fun. turned out at 1.25" with 7 shots in .58". velocity is slow out of my gun at 3150 fps
but it duplicate the 180 grain...
i just started reloading this year, and the first bullet i tried was the barnes ttsx 168 grains. (300 rum) i too was hoping to get 1" @ 100 yard.
i was happy to get that accuracy on the first try. for my second try.
i put my coal to magazine lenght and since then i get all my 3 shot groups...
hello!
someone here is familiar with this setup.
or with the caliber.
i think it would be perfect for the type of woodchuck hunting i do.
i hunt in populated area where a low muzzleblast is welcome and where a 200 yard shot is long. it's in average 100 yard.
i was looking for a kind of accuracy...
.
thank you A. sniper.
its a very interresting test, i was reluctant to try the accubond, because a friend of mine had problem with them on two elk bulls he shot.
he said the shot were in the shoulder and that both bulls dropped to the ground for a few minutes before jumping back up never to be...
wouldn't it be great to have a partitioned accubond.
looks like it would be the best of both world. right?
great B.C. and toughnest.
but i guest if it was possible or practical it would already exist.
