After a very long day taking care of the needs of others, my wife and I were in bed and asleep by 10PM. Then at precisely midnight, an idiot neighbor decided that 30 minutes of celebratory fireworks were in order. He was the only one in the area and lacks the ability to read the room.
It really isn't Christmas without an oven fire. My wife made scones and butter dripped into the bottom. When I preheated the oven for the roast, poof. Oops. All is well.
