In another thread I mentioned that I bought a new Nosler Liberty that had to go back to the factory. There were 3 issues. The bolt was extraordinarily hard to close on Nosler factory 105 grain ammo. The best 3 shot group I could muster at 100 yards was about 5 inches. The bullets showed...
Those kind of groups at 50M should not occur even with inconsistent brass and crimps. Nor should primers cause that. I'd suspect the scope/mounts if I had 8 inch groups at 50M and no evidence of keyholing.
The rifle was delivered to Bend on September the 2nd. I haven't heard anything from them. I don't know what kind of turn around time to expect on warranty work.
I just got off the phone with Nosler. They are sending me a return label. We are all speculating that the barrel was twisted at a 243 (1-10) rate as opposed to the 6 Creed rate. Nosler will get it sorted out, shoot it and send it back. I really hope they get it right, because I have never...
It'll be at least another week before I can shoot it. I ordered one box of factory Nosler ammo. I'll burn through it before I try any handloads. I don't know if my ammo is a bit on the large side or my chamber on the tight side, but it takes some serious effort to close the bolt on it...
I'd go with the 6.5 on account of my bum shoulder, but either will do nicely. I have yet to see anything other than good wood on the Long Rangers and in some cases it is outstanding. Henry the company is as good as it gets.
I have always been a huge fan of Nosler Bullets and Brass. Today I treated myself to a new Nosler Liberty in 6MM Creedmoor. I had been drooling over them for years. Grab A Gun had a good deal on them so I decided to do it. I'll start with Nosler factory ammo to see if it will deliver MOA...
When I travel afar I never have all of my eggs in one basket. I have a card and cash in my wallet and another card and cash in a different location. In your case, I'd have some ammo in one bag and more in another. You never know when something is going to go wrong.
I read quite a bit about the Summit press. When they first came out they had some issues. If you look at this one, it has 2 screws near the base. https://www.natchezss.com/rcbs-summit-s ... press.html Those two screws apparently didn't have the holding power the press needs so they changed...
I like Ramshot Tac quite a bit. I have read a lot of good about CFE223 and intend to try it in the future. My favorite powder for lighter weight bullets in 223 is W748. It doesn't get much attention, but has been incredibly accurate for me.
