The best are these Gooey Pads from Trapdude.com
I shoot a lot of Trap and at big shoots I see a lot of them. I personally have a Soft Touch stock on my Beretta DT10 and they are also quite popular but obviously not what you want on that gun.
I'm pondering the probabilities of RL 17, 22, 23 & Retumbo.
I've got Nosler 190 Custom Competitions, FC Military brass, Fed 215s. I don't have the OAL yet but somewhere around 3.34 seems likely.
The Retumbo load is for a friend and he will be using Hornady 208 grain ELDM. If somebody could run...
I would love to use the GM215M primers, but they are vaporware. I have GM210M and 215s. My stash of CCI BR2s is reserved for my 6.5 Creedmoor.
I'm pretty confident this will be an accurate rifle.
I'm going to be using the 190 grain Custom Competition and I have jugs of RL17 and RL22. I'll be using FC Mil brass and Fed 215 primers. It'll be a little bit because once I get the gun it is off to have the muzzle threaded. Optic will probably be a Leupold Mark 4 LR/T 8.5-25 TMR.
I'm picking up a new rifle in the next couple days. Its a Rem 700 Long Range in 300 Win Mag. I'm shopping for dies right now. I'm looking at the Redding Premium 3 die set with full length sizer, neck sizer, & micrometer seater. The sizers also have a carbide button. They seem like a pretty well...
My .280 shows a strong preference for the 150 E Tip, but I wouldn't hesitate to use the 140 AB/BT either. I've killed a lot of critters with the 115 grain BT from my 25/06 so I have no qualms about the 280 doing the job.
I really enjoyed using the Barnes 90 grain solids in my 25/06 but now that I can't get them I use the 85 grain BT. IMR 4350 is a go-to powder for the 25/06, with a nod toward RL22 for 115 grain bullets.
I have 1/4" in the pistol bays, nothing makes a mark on them. 1/2" from 100-300 yards, nothing makes a mark on them either. 3/8" for the game animals @ 300-600, nothing hurts them either.
I believe it is all Hardox 600. They charged me $400-$500 for the sheets and cutting.
Nice score, I picked up a treasure trove a few years ago that was about 40 boxes of bullets. Many of them were sealed and I remember some of the Sierra bullets had a Whittier CA address on them. I never really looked into how old they were. I see that Santa Fe Springs and Whittier are part of...
