Getting Ready to Roll Some For The Creedmoor

I also picked one of these Ruger American Predators up recently. I'm pretty happy with it so far. I've used RL17, Ramshot Big Game, and Hodgdon H414 with the 129 ABLR and 130 AB. Here is a target with 10 shots each. I removed the target and flipped it before shooting the bottom group.

    .22 pistol for trapping

I really like the new SP101 from Ruger, although a convertible Single Six would be hard to beat. If you ever have a problem with it, Ruger will take care of you.

    Ruger M77 from 1978

Take a little emery cloth to the feed rails. Work the action about a hundred times or so. It will smooth up. The recall was about the rear screw being too long and interfering with the safety. I can't remember if Ruger sent out new screws or did a full recall. If your safety works fine now it...

    130 Accubond

It is, I just got a Ruger American Predator to play with. It is pretty dang quiet with my AAC 300TM on it. Too bad I didn't draw any special tags, however I am planning on doing some hunting with it. So far I've only tried my target loads with a 140 gr Custom Competition, the 129 ABLR and 130 AB...

    130 Accubond

I picked some 2nds up from SPS a few weeks ago and plan to use them in my 6.5 Creedmoor on game.

    Ruger Hawkeye

I have a couple of the older Predators. One is a Lipsey's pre production predator with the target trigger and black laminate stock, the other is a regular production with the green laminate. I really like the Ruger Target trigger.

    270 Win and Reloader 22

I helped a friend work with the 140 AB, RL22 and Fed 215M primers and he is very happy.

Two 1 lb powders a month apart

I picked up some kegs of Alliant powder that are only 5 months apart but one is lot 76 and the other is lot 79, so they are definitely making as much as they can.

How far off the lands for the ABLR?

Thanks Mike, I only have one box of them, hopefully that is enough. I do pretty extensive testing.

How far off the lands for the ABLR?

I've had pretty results with the Accubond at about .1" off the lands. In my Creedmoor the 129 ABLR is showing contact at 2.95". I can't seat that far out and fit in the magazine anyway, I'm thinking I could go 2.85" or so reliably. I'm planning on trying these with RL17. The gun currently shoots...

Scratch one off the bucket list

I've got one of those, they are good shooters. I have a few others too, the one I was shooting today was a SA field grade with a 5 Throat and 4 Muzzle, it still wacks the 400 yard ram pretty easily. Watch SPS for the CC 155/168 blems and stock up, they are perfect for these guns. 45 or so...

What is the best fastest cleaner you ever used?

I've been using the Outers foaming cleaner for several years. It is pretty speedy and does a very good job. I can't handle the stink of other cleaners so this stuff is my favorite.

After I got the progressive shotshell loader I couldn't resist picking up a couple Dillon's to load pistol and rifle.

Reloder 22, 115 BTs and my 25/06 get along really well. Retumbo didn't work for me either.

I know a couple guys that would crawl on their hands and knees through broken glass to get that A1680.

M-4 Carbine What to top it with?

I have a C More Railway on one, a Leupold VXR on another, and a Burris 536 on one. They are pretty equal in speed, but the C More wins in light and no nonsense. It does need to be turned on, but works well with irons. The Burris is a fixed 5x but is surprisingly heavy for its size. It does have...
