I like your style. I shoot 6mm Remington, 280AI, and 30-06 and use only Nosler bullets, use Federal 210 & 215 primers, and mostly use IMR4350 and IMR7828SSC with H4350 & H4831SC in there. Just a wee bit more complicated than yours but not much.
They don't need to be removed or exterminated, but they do need to have measures in place that allow for hunting and trapping to help keep them wild and to keep numbers in check...
On my son's Ruger MKII in 6mm Remington I had a lady who worked for Cooper Arms checker the stock and had my gunsmith pillar and glass bed it. It's a great shooting rifle and the nutmeg laminate stock is just gorgeous. He likes it and so do I.
Good luck on your hunt and that 280 Remington should serve you well as other fine intelligent gentlemen here have stated. Anything from an excellent 140-160 gr. bullet in your rifle would work very well. The 160 gr. Partition or 160 gr. Accubond would be outstanding of course. Cannot wait...
When I started at the S.O. I had a 4" S&W Model 28 revolver in .357. I really liked that pistol and shot it very well. When I transitioned to a Semi-Auto pistol I sold my Model 28. Of course now I wish I still had it. I have a Ruger LCR .22 LR with a 3" barrel. 8 round capacity. Not a...
I love my two Ruger 1B's in 6mm Remington and 30-06. Beautiful rifles that are wonderful to carry. Love those #1's!!! Also the 280AI. I had a Winchester Model 70 made into a 280AI. Fantastic cartridge. You done good!
I don't get real fancy and just warm up about 1/2 a cup of butter until it's soft or liquid and then I rub it all over the turkey and sprinkle some sea salt on it. It goes into my Pit Boss pellet smoker at 225 until it's cooked. It has a water tray in it that I make sure it has water in and...
On my personal stuff I have the following.
6x42mm Leupold on my Ruger 1B 6mm Remington. Love this scope!
4x Leupold on my Ruger 1B 30-06
4.5-14x42mm Leupold VX3 with B&C reticle on my Winchester Model 70 280AI. (Love the B&C reticle & scope!) My first variable ever!
2-7 Leupold rimfire scope...
This is out of my son's 300 WSM and is a 180 gr. Accubond we recovered under the hide on the offside shoulder of his nice cow elk at about 150 yards broadside. She dropped on the spot and never moved. I "borrowed" Guy's really neat picture that he did using one of the Nosler books as a...
Accubond - Partition - E-tip out of my 6mm Remington into water jugs at 400 yards. They all performed exceptionally well.
Accurate as well. I didn't work this load up for my rifle, I just picked what I thought would be a decent load with accuracy and good velocity so I could use them in my...
Me too Scotty. I have wanted a controlled round feed Model 70 forever. When I found that essentially new Classic Sporter I just new I had to buy it. It became a 280AI and the rest is history.
OAL in my Remington 700 and then later my Ruger 1B was the same at 3.375. That is with teh same 165 gr. Partition that you are using. The same seating depth, case, primer, and powder & charge weight stayed the same for both. It shot fantastic in both rifles. Powder was IMR4350. I do not...
Just me but I would prefer the 165 gr. Accubond, Partition, or 150 gr. E-tip. Same with 180 gr. Partition and Accubond bullets in the 30-06 over the Ballistic Tip bullets. The BT's have been improved but I personally prefer the others over it.
I've been seeing Hornady 6mm Remington brass at our local Scheels store in Missoula MT. 406-218-7530. I purchased 150 rounds and they had several hundred more.
