Question for the AR tinkerers here. I just installed an adjustable gas block on my 22 Nosler. Can I now go with a very light buffer weight. I have a kit to mix and match the weights inside. Seems to me if i go with the lightest buffer and tune my gas to that I should be good,right?
For anyone that loads for centerfire pump guns do you use small base dies? My son in law would like for me to load for his Remington 270 but all I have is standard 2 die set. I've seen it said you should use sb dies for ar's but I've never had a problem using std. dies for them. Just wondering...
From the looks of the bolt face low round count. Those pads are nice but tend to get gummy and mushy over the years. The only 7 mag I ever shot was a right hand like that. That was enough for me. I'm a short action/cartridge fan. Good luck with a nice older gun,keep us posted on how she shoots.
With modern rifles 2700 is handicapping yourself. I'm over book max with no pressure signs running 2900+ with 140gr bullets in my rebarrelled Savage. Mostly 4831sc and IMR 4955.
Still having problems with the case head swelling so much after the first or second firing that the cases won't fit in my Lee hand primer shell holder. And they barely fit in the press shell holder. These are right at book max but velocity is not up where it should be. This brass is the worst...
