I have used a 7mm Rem Mag and 160’s to take two mule deer bucks over the years. One shot each and done deal.
I happen to think that 160 AccuBond is THE bullet in any 7mm Mag. My brother in law uses it exclusively in his 7mm STW!
You all know my feelings on the 165 Accubond and the .30-06! They go together like biscuits and gravy. I don’t know if a more perfect combination exists!

Have you noticed any one particular bullet weight as being more accurate or providing better performance? I have so far shot 115’s and 124’s and both cycle reliably and shoot accurately. I’ve been told the 147’s are where its at by many of the 9mm aficionados I know but have yet to try...
I got a great bonus this year at work so decided to treat myself to a new “Sunday go-to meeting” handgun. Thats my hillbilly way of saying that “the church wouldn’t like me coming to Sunday service with my Bisley Blackhawk on my hip so I carry this instead” gun! 😂
Cycled perfectly so far with...
You have my sympathies friend. Life is very hard. I take great hope in knowing that this is all temporary. Our misery and suffering will be done away with, forever.
Someday everything is going to be alright. But, to quote Tom Petty, “the waiting is the hardest part.”
In my last .300 Win Mag, I loaded some 200 grain Accubond bullets on top of RL-22. The mv was only like 2775 fps, but it shot very well. Never did take any game with it though. I am sure it would’ve worked well on anything/everything!
Awesome results thank you for sharing! I bought some of the .277-130 grain E-Tips to try in my Browning BBR .270 Winchester but haven’t had occasion as of yet.
I’ve not used the 7mm Rem Mag as much as others here but as a guide, I frequently see rifles thusly chambered in the field.
I have personally taken two mule deer bucks and one cow elk with a 7mm Rem Mag. All three were taken with IMR-4350 and the 160 grain Nosler Accubond traveling right at...

It’s dangerous to push something harder than it’s safe or sensible to do. Enjoy the 7mm-08 for what it is, and if you think you need more oomph, buy something with a larger case. The 280 Remington, 280 AI and 7mm Rem Mag are excellent choices.
That would be perfect!!
Dear Nosler Santa:
Would love to see a 180 grain .358 caliber Partition Handgun bullet for use in .357 Magnum. A 147 grain .355 caliber Partition for use in 9mm Luger handguns and .350 Legend would also be welcome.
Would love to see a 55 or 60 grain .224 Accubond for...
Personally, I have taken Coyotes, Mule Deer, Aoudad and Rocky Mountain Elk with the Accubond. Most of those were with a .30-06 but have also used them in .25-06, 7mm Rem Mag and .300 Win Mag. I have guided or accompanied other hunters that used them in .257 Roberts, .25-06 Remington, .264 Win...
To me the RUM in the 700 Remington with a synthetic stock is manageable, about like my old 8mm Rem Mag was. But I fired a Model 70 Classic Sporter in .300 RUM that kicked more than my .375 H&H did. I’ve since sold both the 8mm and the .375. Ditto my .300 Win Mag. Early on I discovered that I...
In my experience they are Coke and Pepsi. What one does, the other will do.
The Win Mag has the edge on case capacity and therefore can be loaded hotter. It is also easier to find brass for as well as being more ubiquitous.
The WSM does seem to kick a bit less, but the difference is...
Call me crazy but I think at some point, all this extra tech takes the fun out of hunting. I like winging lead at steel as far away as possible at the range as much as the next nimrod. But hunting has become a lot more like a glorified version of “Battleship” than the gentlemanly sport of fair...
