If I had all the load development, shooting to get data, turret purchasing, and turret testing to do over again I'd probably try the 200gr Accubond. I've used a lot of Accubonds in a lot of weights. I have a good load with the 180gr Accubond in this rifle, just don't have a turret built around...
Pretty cool, thanks for sharing.
I had one of those for a while but a buddy that loves his Ruger P95 wanted it really bad. He ended up buying it off me. It shot good and fed everything I tried in it. I put the money into a CZ 529 in 7.62x39 that I put a 1.25-4x Leupold VX-R on. When my...
Thanks everyone. I will probably stick with them and try to break some bone if I can. Next year I'm going to AK after caribou and the year after will be elk, so it might be easier to just stick with the same bullet. I will be in bear country and want a tough bullet for those hunts.
I found out a few days ago I drew a CO muley tag in a unit that took a few more points to draw than I usually save up before burning them. My 264WM is at Manners getting a new stock and I don't think I'll have it home in time to re-shoot my loads at 300 and 600 yards plus get a new turret...
My G20 eats JHP or Underwood Extreme Penetrator ammo fine but has issues with hardcast. Its at the gunsmith now. I tried several things including a KKM barrel and 22lb recoil spring but it still doesn't want to feed. Maybe he can figure out the issue. It seems strange to me that any...
Very sorry to hear that.
I have a 13 year old heeler who is spending most of her time sleeping and dreaming about when she had 4 good legs and could work cattle. She still likes to ride in the truck once I lift her up there, but when she stays on the truck when the horses ride off she hates...
I have decided to order a KKM barrel for mine. I have a hard time changing anything, the darn thing is shooting so good with the 180gr loads I'm practicing with. I haven't put it on paper yet but my polymer targets and Gatorade bottles are sure getting nailed inside 35 yards. Past that I'm...
Couple posts from another forum explaining what I found when trying to get to the bottom of the Glock/hardcast mystery. I never did get to the bottom of it, just decided to get the barrel and be safe.
Got my Gen 4 G20 picked up and shot for the first time tonight. I bought 200 rounds of...
I would agree. Nothing wrong with a Glock out of the box for most needs.
There seems to be a lot of questions about using hot HC lead loads in a Glock barrel. The polygonal rifle and overbore apparently build up lead fast according to a lot of people. I decided the barrel with the little...
Despite being a 1911 and revolver guy, I now own a Glock.
I decided I wanted to get a 10mm handgun for some AK hunts I have coming up. Not because I probably need it when I'll have a 300 win mag, but because I want it. There are scenarios where I see it being nice to leave the rifle at camp...
Great looking set up. I just got my first Glock, a Gen 4 G20. I have a couple AK hunts coming up in the next few years and my 357 started looking smaller....
Just got a G20 yesterday. I have a few AK trips planned and wanted a new handgun to pack in case of bear issues. This one seemed to be the best balance of power, weight, price, and features to me. Runner up was a S&W 69 or 10mm 1911. I might still own both someday but the Glock will be the...
I didn't draw the bull tag this year that I showed a 97% chance of drawing based off last years odds. Point creep is bad in Wyoming, I'd say to burn points and hunt. Randy Newburg said basically the same thing on a podcast recently.
Elk are a species I enjoy hunting but I like others...
I got the box of 69 grain tipped matchkings in today. The box says 1 in 10 or faster so we will see once the rifles arrive. I also have an AR upper in 5.56 with a 1 in 7 Colt H bar barrel that has proven really accurate with 60 grain V max Black Hills loads, I might have to give them a shot in...
I have Wyatt boxes in the 3 M70 builds I have in magnums (2 264WM's and a 300WM). My 25-06 M 70 didn't need it, it likes Sierra Gameking 100gr bullets that aren't to long anyway.
I run the ballistics on Hornady's calculator and zero for no more than 2.8" of mid range rise. I see how far out that gets me without hold over. I started doing that on coyote rifles and since I shoot them the most I do it for big game rifles too.
Usually I end up being 2.8" high somewhere...
Thanks everyone. I ordered a box of each from Midway. I'll let you know how they do when I get the rifles and bullets in.
A 22 Nosler upper for my good AR lower will be my next addition. I've been wanting one for a while and seeing the 70gr Accubond as well as these tipped Matchking bullets...
Midway also shows a 60 grain tipped Matchking with a .323 BC that looks promising. I didn't even see that on Sierra's website so maybe it's a Midway exclusive. It has good reviews and says it's overdue on being back in stock. I will have to try it too if I get a chance.
