check out the Hornady loading manual- they have a section just for the M1. I use varget, blc2 or ramshot biggame. I like the biggame-really clean burning powder.
I have the convertible with both cylinders 4 5/8 " barrel. And I like the 45 long colt so much I have not even used the 45 acp cylinder yet and I have had the gun for about 5 years. I also have a 44mag and I use the 45 colt much more. There is something special about a 255-290 grn lead bullet...
Mine did not shoot all that good out of the box- problem with the factory stock. if you touched the barrel it would stick to one side of the stock and change the point of impact. Groups were not what I expected. That is why I changed stocks. I took it out for the first time after the new stock...
That is the rifle I have, I put it in a HS precision stock it was not bedded right from the factory. I also had the throat lengthed so i did not have to seat the bullets so deep
yep- usually a ruger blackhawk 45 Colt with 290 gn cast bullets going 900fps when I'm hunting. if its warm I carry a couple of speer shot shell loaded w/ #12shot.

out of that list the 350 grn 458 prt. and the 358 bullet. I would like to see the old 45 grn 22 Hornet solid base bullet brought back- down to four boxes.
Went out after work and sat and watched my bear trail with a friend. a black bear came in and spotted us and wandered off before we could get a shot. About half an hour later it came back but sneaking up from our side and then got to where it could see us and directly started angling towards us...
Also my favorite caliber- I have always used BLC2 for my whelen, I don't think I got listed velocities with it but it shot good. I got some Rel15 and it shots just as good. I use 250 Part. for elk and black bear. I use 200 grn rem rn cl bulk bullets for deer. I did pick up some 225 part. 2nds I...
took a friend fall bear hunting in the same spot I got my bear, its a well used trail that bears have always used. We did not get anything the 2 evenings we watched the trail, but huge tracks so I barrowed a game camera. There is a big black bear with lil tiny ears that makes mine look like a...
My was a 91 cavery carbine in 6.5x52. the Baynot mount for the pivoting baynot had been professially ground off, and what appears to be a british enfield front sight insert put in the base. Other than that the gun is all orginal and shoots very good. It has a very tight bore. I took my first...
