Army I feel your pain. Mine 270 is a browning abolt also. I just loaded mine as far out as the magazine would allow and tweaked my powder charge a little. Im sure you should have no problem loading the 140gr accubond. Good luck
The cuddieback are great cameras. Trail cams are very fun! Its just another addicting part of hunting now. Everytime mine is out I just cant wait to see whats on it. Here is a very interesting pic I got off mine a few years ago.
Nitis My dads 257Wby loves the 100gr TTSX. Last year in WY he took a few deer with it. All but one were DRT and the bullet preformed great. We are going back this year and he is loading the same bullet for mulies. I would say that or the 110 accubond and you will be fine.
Thanks POP. I think I just opened a new can of worms thought. It was very fun building the rifle and now I want to build another already. I guess I can live through my brother who is building a 6-06 right now.
JD The recoil is pretty mild. I have just started shooting it but I suspect it will be easy to see impact. Its really amazing the felt recoil with the limbsaver pad and muzzlebrake. After load development I will start shooting it without the brake though.
Mike- Any suggestions on powders for...
The barrel is a factory contour 24". I bought the barrel new from a guy and he had the brake installed. The barrel was cut with a custom ptg no turn neck reamer. I do have a thread protector so I am planning on hunting without the brake. I have fired 6 rounds already and the rifle has almost no...
Bullet Looks good!! Did you happen to check ring alignment? Just had a problem with rings on a ruger. Had to lap them pretty good to get left/right straight.
What I find funny about this gentlemans statement is this. His rifle shoots the 225gr bullet about 1MOA. Then he goes to say the 2nds are no good because they wont group the same. Maybe its because its a 210gr and maybe needs a different powder or OAL. I always look for 2nds when I can find...
That is a bummer. Thank you CA and the condors. I think its crazy to have to change all my loads to no copper to shoot squirrels. Flowers If you want to sell those BT lead free let me know what you got. My bro's 22-250 shoots them lights out! Im pretty sure he has a 1:12 though.
I had this problem with my 270. I just loaded to magazine length and started tweaking the powder charge a little at a time til it started to tighten. Good luck!
Mike Great article. I live near San Luis county and really hope the proposition passes this year. There are a lot of bears and sightings are becoming much more frequent. CA bear hunting is a real fun hunt with a long season in my area. I guess we will see tomorrow what happens!
