Well, I screwed up about a dozen rounds of 270 wsm. Looks like I didn't have my bullet seating die adjusted properly and crushed the shoulders. I tried to pull them with my RCBS hammer but the wsm cases are too fat and won't fit. Can anyone recommend a decent puller for the wsm cases.
I had a similar problem with a model 700 mountain rifle in 30/06. The problems all stemmed from poor cleaning over the years. The rifle was severely copper fouled but didn't really cause major problems until I ran out of my favorite ammo and started trying other types of ammo, to see what shot...
$475.00 in 1995 and $829.00 doesn't seem like a huge increase in 16 years, maybe it's because guns have either come down in price or stayed the same, here in canada in the past few years that it seemed like such a bargain. I can remember looking at an A- bolt in 2005 and the asking price was...
Funny you consider them to be too expensive. I just purchased an x bolt composite stalker and the price $ 829.00 semed quite reasonable to me considering the features on the rifle. I was comparing it to the model 70 extreme weather or the ultimate shadow in 270 wsm. In the end the browning just...
I have only reloaded brass that I bought as factory ammo and have only had a few that eventually split the necks after 5 or 6 firings. That's not too bad considering I keep my loads pretty close to max.
I have had one for about 5 years now. There are a couple of issues I encountered along the way in loading for it. You will need to full length re - size every time, no neck sizing with these babies. I also had issues setting up my dies to properly re-size the cases, you will need your press to...
I guess I'll have to bite the bullet and turf the federal brass, not worth taking the risk shooting them. I won't be buying any more in the future, which is unfortunate as I always considered Federal ammo to be top notch.
I've never had factory ammo that was too hot before. Is this common with the wsm family or across the board with federal ammo. It is a bit of a pain around her as ammo for this caliber is hard to find, I may just order a bag of winchester brass.
Hey guy's first post here, but I have been reading for a couple years now. I recently purchased an x bolt in 270 wsm. I fired two boxes of factory ammo through it while I waited for my dies and bullets to arrive. One box was federal 130 grain SP the other was winchester power max bonded in 130...
