This is great advice! I measure the actual bullets from the lot, and try, and find an average of the measurements, and then use that bullet to start. I then do a COAL measurement, switch to the comparator and get a CBTO for that bullet, and use that to start with.

I would love to have a ar15 in the 6.5 Grendel! I would be a little concerned with it passed 250 yds however, especially for deer. It might be worth looking into an ar10 platform in maybe a .243 or something? Similar platform just a little bigger cartridge.

I think I would start at your COAL 3.217 length and work towards the 3.305 COAL. you have a known at 3.217 try your increases from there and move out longer towards the .050 jump. If I’m understanding you correctly
