    WY-SHOT Video

If you come out in 2026 (WY-SHOT always starts the day after Father's Day) and use one of my loaner pistols, your perspective of distance will be so different, after three days of shooting. I usually put newbies in my group.

It is actually easier with a well-built rifle, but that wouldn't be as much fun.

    Killing

Growing up on a farm, when we slaughtered chickens, cattle or hogs for meat, it was not a emotional thing, it was just life. When big game hunting, depending on the circumstances, it is more of a mixture of feelings, that is not always the same. When hunting with others when the hunt is over...

    16" vs 24" .308 Win Velocity...

Most chamberings in both SA and LA cartridges, do well in 15-16 tubes. Most chamberings in both SA and LA cartridges, do well in 15-16 tubes, Kill Great at the distances the majority of hunters max out at (350-400 yards). The average distance is probably quite a bit shorter, if you actually did...

6GT...Who here has one or more?

Take it as luck. I’ve seen a number of tack drivers, plus my fair share of dogs. You will get more of a no spin zone here. The distance stuff, it’s just a matter of having someone that knows what they’re doing, help you, and then the majority of the mystery will be taken away. Wind and...

    16" vs 24" .308 Win Velocity...

I am not so much about efficiency, but about a performance level I want out of of project the majority of the time. Sometimes, I want a specific cartridge, just because I want that cartridge :) In 308 Winchester I'm weird....I have two specialty pistols: A 15.75" single-shot Remington XP-100...

    16" vs 24" .308 Win Velocity...

Most definitely. I literally was talking about the same cartridge, the same powder, the same brass, the same load, the same brand of bullet, the same weight of bullet. Everything being the same except barrel length.

Why No Love for The .308 Winchester

Fouling with mono's is partially dependent on how the mono is made, and the other part of that is is the quality of your barrel. Generally speaking, if you look through a bore scope of a custom barrel versus a factory barrel you will usually notice a distinct difference.

    Advice for someone starting out

Well, sometimes we paint a red dot 🔴 on our targets. So, maybe we do have a bullseye at times😇 Derrick shooting my Speedy 6mm Creedmoor XP-100.

Why No Love for The .308 Winchester

Bullet choices are important. Shot placement is EPIC! Many hunters say, “I made a good shot,” when in reality they did not. I have found this to be sadly true. Most hunters do not do an autopsy and actually confirm where the bullet went, what it hit. They just assume they made a good...

    Advice for someone starting out

On steel there is no bullseye. Depending on how I am holding on the target, my crosshair is not always at the center of the target, whether I am shooting on paper or steel. Benchrest shooting on paper close or 1K requires different glass (High Magnification). Benchrest shooting has...
