Aha!!!! You brought up a very tender subject for me. Spent four years of my life in the Navy and ended up with Asbestos. It is anchored down in both lungs so I'm good so far. I do keep close tabs on it.
It will be 58 years for me in another month. I am fully aware of the ups and downs of a successful marriage. There are a number of Rocky roads along the way but constant work and love will get you through most anything. Congratulations and many more!!!
Guy, I come from the Vietnam era and I lost four good friends who were on the high school swimming team with me. We have had the travelling wall come through our area and it's still a bit difficult to look at the names of people who were your good friends.
I've heard that a lot of shooters use glasses with the reading portion (Normally lower lens) on the top instead of bottom. I'm going to try that on my next set. Since I've had cataract surgery I can get away with no glasses but this would be an interesting experiment.
Off shore Oil leases were suspended, Any Federal land with oil producing equipment was stopped (and that was a lot of land). The oil sands (on Federal land) were shut down. Supposedly oil production was increased under Biden (if you believe MSN) is that why we now only have 46 percent of our oil...
Have to disagree with you on that. Trump had the oil sands in the Dakotas going full blast. He was having other areas opened up for drilling when Biden took over. The first thing Biden did was shut down the oil sands. Then the pipeline. Then he started shutting down the wells at the behest of...
I own four Sigs, a P320, a P365XL, a P229 and a P226 (old German model). I have literally shot the sh-- out of them and not once have had a problem. The 320 issue is perpetuated a lot by Glock owners who have forgotten the glocks had the same trigger issue hence the comment "Glock leg". Sig...
Not to dispute the first comment but you won't be practicing your presentation at 10 feet. I have yet to talk to a survivor of a shoot out or looked at past records and found an officer or other person that has taken the time to try and aim. It is point shooting at its best.
I use a Leupold Red Dot for my S&W .22 caliber target pistol. As far as combat pistols are concerned I stay away from Red dots or any other type of mount. The normal distance for Self defense shooting is up to 21 feet. Most are far less. I'm 80 years old with cataract surgery and my eyes work...
Nice looking rifle. I'm running IMR4350 with 140 grain partitions through mine for just less than 1 inch groups. The 7-08 isn't fussy with powders and I'm sure you'll find a good combo.
When I purchased my Christensen Arms .300 Win Mag I found the magazine box to be real long and the throat to be real short. I solved the problem with a good gunsmith. Now I can load to 3.600 with all bullets and longer with some of the sleek long range bullets. It did change the performance of...
That's great to hear. I know it was a rough road for him to get to this point. Keep up the testing and now it's time to start getting life back on the rails.
I'm feeling kind of funny as my list is kind of short:
.243 Winchester
7MM-08
30-30 Win
.35 Rem
7MM Mag
30.06
.300 Win mag
.338 Ultramag
.50 Caliber Muzzleloader
I've hunted Deer in Maine for Many years and with good company all hunts are memorable. I do have to say when I started Elk hunting in 1994 it was certainly different at 9200 feet in Colorado than Maine at swamp level in many areas. My hunting buddy of 50 years and I covered many miles of...
At 80 years of age My old injuries have come back to say hello when I do certain things I shouldn't. A motorcycle accident when I was 20 shortened my back of my left leg about 3/4 of an inch which was fine for many years. Now the arthritis creeps in when least expected.
I am using a Zeiss 1.5X6 Diavari for my .338RUM and feel that scope is the best one I've ever owned. A Kahles 3X9 sits on my Christensen arms .300Mag. A Leupold 2.5X8 sits on my 7-08 and has taken a lot of deer. An old Nikon 1X4 sits on my Ruger .44 carbine. (very bright) Binnoculars are a set...
My first deer rifle was a 336 Texan in .35 Remington. That rifle did drop deer. The 2nd was a Win. model 94 in 30.30 that spent a bit of time in the Maine Woods taking whitetail. Switching to Bolts and Semi Autos it was a long time before I came back to Levers. Presently I have a model 94 in .32...
I had a batch of Military cases for my AR that I had just run through a swaging die to get rid of the primer crimp that so many cases have. I then started to seat primers and as usual some primer pockets were tighter than others. I was moving along and ran into a particularly tight primer pocket...
My favorite single action is my old Ruger Flat top 3 screw .44 mag. Had that gun for 35 plus years
2nd gun is a 686 Smith. Carried that gun for many years on the PD. Shoots lights out with a 4 inch barrel
Third is either my Sig P365XL or my P226 in .357 Sig. Absolutely love the 226. Made in...
