Yeah, that's my gripe with the Hodgdon Annual. They started dropping some of the older cartridges a few years ago.

Not what you're describing but know a guy that built an electric fence around his bee hives to keep bears out. It worked so a spark will get their attention.

Played around with this rifle some,got hot and put it aside. Finally got back to it and this morning was cooler so headed to the range. I've duplicated this load so if I don't find anything else this will hunt.

Well written history of your journey. Most of my exposure to hunting and especially shooting was from reading and a couple guys who showed me enough to perk my interest. Never used it in a 264 Win Mag but did in a 25-06 with 115gr Nosler Pt. Know couple of shooters that used it in their 7mmRM. Slow and dirty but got good groups with it. Hope someone has the data. I'll see if I can find some info.

Years ago, Federal in the red and white box was good brass. Anymore the primer pocket loosens up after a couple firings. Have seen this in different calibers. Sometimes it is just getting a bad lot of the more common brands. Do agree that Lapua and Norma are worth the price.

35 Rem is hard to beat for a woods caliber. I was a late user of it but do like it now. Try Hodgdon LVR sometime. It does real well in the 35Rem.

Well I'm glad my issue is resolved but now it's costing me money 😄
