    copper wont go away

Yes, the solvents like Sweets will react with bronze brushes.I only use the brush for removing powder,or lead residue. Then I only use patches with sweets,or copper solvents. I like Boar Tech solvent, it seems to work well on copper

    Which 44 mag?

I have owned a good many .44mags over the years.I currently have a Smith 629 -4", 629 Classics in 5" and 6 1/2", and a Redhawk in 7 1/2" with rings.I like the 4" Smith for a carry gun.I really like shooting the Redhawk off of the bench for working up heavy loads. The Redhawk will take the...

    Ruger Redhawk .41 mag

Looks like I just scored a 5 1/2" stainless.I had one years ago and it was one of the most accurate handguns I ever owned.I sold it after I lost a deer with it. Finally decided it was the bullet I was using and not me or the gun. I regretted selling it, so now I get the chance to own one again.A...

    Nosler .429 240 JSP

As far as jacketed bullets go ,I have gotten some great accuracy from the Sierra .44 and .41's.They don't open up worth a flip though.I have had deer soak them up and keep on going.I believe the Noslers will open up better.

500 SW back and badder than ever

Oh that is the 500 S&W with your cast bullets.Looks like a really fine hunting round with cast bullets.I haven't worked up any cast bullet loads for my .454 yet.I prefer hunting with cast bullets though.I have always had the best luck with those in a .44 or .41.

500 SW back and badder than ever

What kind of gun do you have for that round? The worst recoil I have experienced out of a handgun was with a T/C Encore in .444 Marlin. It would make your whole arm ache like a mule kick you.

    Rifles that you once had...

Most of my old Winchesters and Colts are gone now.Damn what I once had. I had a .38/40 Colt Bisley that would shoot one ragged hole at twenty five yards. One I really wish I had back was a Colt Army Special in .32/20, real pearl grips.Perhaps the most accurate handgun I have ever owned. Oh well ...

500 SW back and badder than ever

How is the accuracy on that big 500?Are your handloads any better than the factory loads.I have shot a 500 S&W with the shorter barrel. I shoot a Freedom Arms .454 Casull with a 4 3/4 inch barrel. The factory load 260 grainers chrono at just above 1600 fps.

375 or 375 thats the question

I owned a Ruger #1 in .375 H&H once.I couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with that one ,it had pretty would though. :P Needless to say I found it a new owner.

    Three or four rifles only?

Looking back over the last forty years of hunting, I could probably taken most of the large game I killed, with a .30/06. It would have been a boring ride though.I still like going out in the fall with an old .30/40 Krag with Redfield peep sights. The rifle means something to me because I bought...

375 or 375 thats the question

I recall shooting an old Sako .375 H&H with a Mannlicher stock. It was my friends gun.We were shooting motor oil quart bottles at 100 yards offhand and hitting them consistently. That was a nice rifle.I have a Stainless Browning A bolt in .375 H&H and it is very accurate as well.

    Rifles that you once had...

If I could just have one rifle back, it would be an 86 winchester in .45/90. It was a special order gun with a shotgun butt, round barrel, half mag.Perfect bore, all the case color and blue. What on Gods earth ever possesed me to sell that one I will never know.I will regret it till my dying day.

375 or 375 thats the question

If I am going to follow a wounded Cape into the brush, you can bet my first shot will be with a .416 or a .458. That is the only big game animal left that I care anything about hunting. The Real Deal. I had two beautiful rifles set up right. They were Model 70 safari grades. One in .458...

    Looking at 270s.

I guess I grew up reading too much of the "One track .270 Jack O'Conner. Yes I love the .270 winchester.I have a Steyr Professional rifle that I have hunted with for years. It is the one I reach for when I think of long range deer hunting. :wink:I owned a Browning .30/06 Safari grade once...

375 or 375 thats the question

If I were going after Cape Buffalo, I would want the .416 Remington Mag. I had one set up for the purpose, then 9/11 happened and I never got to go. Now I have lost so much money that I can't afford to go.The .375 is illegal to use for buff in certain countries in Africa. I still own a .375 H&H...

    Three or four rifles only?

Nice selection, but I would have to keep the .308 and I would replace the 06 with a .375H&H .Or just keep what you have and add the .375.Then you would have everything covered nicely. 8) I am with ya, I am fixing to tighten the screws down tighten on what I buy and spend.

    Marlin 1895G 45-70

I have two of the 1895G rifles. My main hunting gun is a 1895 rifle 22" barrel reintroduced around '71 . I have owned it since that time. Lets just say I have scored some major game with that one.If you are going to buy, yeah $400 is a fair price for the gun. I paid $450 for a used stainless...
