Thats great, looks like it is going to shoot better than the one I had.Sometimes a bit of card stock under the fore end tip will help.I put one of the Brownell accurizing devices in my .204 It took the groups down from an inch and a half to MOA.

Excellent! I really like the Dakota rifles. The Hornady manual has some data on the 7mm Dakota.I would try Rel22. It has a starting load of 64.3 grains and a max load of 75.8 with the 162 grain bullet.Top velocity of 3200fps.
I have a love/hate relationship with #1's.I have owned many over the years. Some shot great ,others wouldn't shoot no matter what you did.Part of it was the old Wilson (tent stake) barrels that Ruger use to use.The hanger has always been an accuracy problem for those rifles.I now have a .204 and...

I have one of these peep sights and a front post sigh for my .405. They are really neat little sights. It is nice to have as a backup in case the scope gets knocked off.
I hope it shoots good for you.I have a Tropical in the ,405 win.I really like it a lot.I put a 1.5 X5 Leupold matte finished scope with heavy duplex on it.
Here is an item of interest I found:

I just ordered on for my .41 mag, will let you know how I like it!
The Sierra .30cal 168 BT match king bullet is most accurate bullet I have ever fired. That bullet is as close to perfect as I have found. For hunting I use the Nosler 165 Ballistic Tip.
I have gotten my best accuracy with Rel 15 and Norma 202,and yes I have tried all the powders mentioned.Varget is also an excellent sub MOA powder, but didn't preform as well in my two rifles as the ones I mentioned.
Me and my son are both lifetime members of NRA.It is vital that all gun owner support this organization if they care anything at all about their second amendment rights.
My wife has been on my case to buy a new digital camera. Maybe I will sell the Redhawk and fund one.
Nosler and Sierra need to get on the stick and start making .41 cal bullets again.I cannot find any at all.I am sure they are going full force after the high demand calibers.I finally...
So I found an old Hoppes pistol rest that I have and took my Redhawk and S&W 657 out back.At 15 yds the Redhawk shot five shots you could cover with a quarter. The 657 Classic has a Millett red dot on it. It is unreal. One hole.It is the most accurate revolver I own.The .41mag( IMO) has always...
I have also had better luck with 296.I used it so much that I totally ragged out a 629.You could take the gun and shake it in your hand and it would rattle.I feel much more comfortable using heavy doses of it in my Redhawks.
Those guns are built hell for strong. You won't shoot them loose.
True.I have found that my groups have improved when I changed to the Hogue Mono grip with finger grooves. It helps me position my hand the same way on the grip each time. I am not a fan of the way some of the grips like Pachmayer look on the gun,but the finger grooves do help.
