    .45 Colt hunting load suggestions?

I have used a load real close to what Fotis suggested, only hard cast 300 grain LBT. My Father used to say "Like driving a spike through them." "Hurt like hell, and gives them something else to think about."

    Pepsi and deer

I wouldn't use a Pepsi product for anything. They are trying to take our guns away. They are on the same list as the Democrats, AARP, The Pepsi Bottling Company, Ect.

    Model 70 Classics

Thanks Fotis. Been several years putting them together. Of course you got to give one away, about every 2 years or so. But most of them were Featherweights. Lets see 3 Nephews, 3 Nisses, 2 Daughters, and 2 Son in Laws. Took 20 years to get them all shooting Winchesters.

    .25-06 or .280???

I gave a Classic Laminate in .25-06, to the oldest Twin Nephew, a couple years ago. That rifle shot heavies very well. So I know about the 1/4" bore. But the good bullets in .284, would be one reason to lean towards the .280. Looking for a Featherweight that does not knock the crap out of...

    The perfect defense round?

Right on Guy. I have dispatched several car hit animals that had been shot poorly several times, by someone else, mostly law issue sidearms. I shot them dead with a .22 LR. Shot placement.

    Open sights?

I always have a open sighted rifle, to go along with my pistol. In your face wolf, lion, or bear shooting needs open sights. A lot of brush around the area too.

    Time to build something cool..........

I have a few big bores, but I'm with DrMike on the 7 SAUM. It only gives up a couple hundred feet to the STW, and is a lot better to shoot. Get a short stiff barrel, and a moderate weight. Twist for the bullet of choice.
