My marlin 30-30 is the only gun I have not reloaded for. The Winchester 170 factory ammo prints 1 inch groups all day long. But I was interested in trying the nosler bullets too.
Do you need a crimping die for the 150 e tip?

Well I'm happy to report my 700 7 mag likes 140 accubond just as much as 160 Accubonds. I had 9 140s loaded up in 0.3 increments of reloader 22. Two of the three groups were basically a ragged hole. Man I love this gun. Out of the box 700 mag bdl, old style stiff trigger. This gun just...
I finally got out this weekend (it's still snowing here). My first three groups with the 300 win mag X-bolt and 165 accubonds with reloader 22 were in the 3 inch range. My 30-30 lever gun can do better than that. Think I'm going back to trying a 180 gr Accubond.

I am was planning on loading up a box with the 165 ab and reloader 22 as well and work up towards the 77 gr max load you are using. My browning has a 26 inch tube so I'm curious how my velocity compares to yours. Hopefully the snow will melt this week and I get a chance to shoot soon at our...
Both my 700s 7mm mag and 3006 shot the tightest groups with accubonds seated out as long as possible so they were just engaging the rifling. Didn't have any issues with the magazine in either. I tried 6 or 7 different powders in each and reloader 22 gave me the best groups and velocity in...
Also factory load 140 Winchester super x shoot about 2625 fps out of my wifes 7 08 10 feet from the muzzle. Box says should be 2800. It is a youth model so it only has an 18.5 inch barrel which robs the velocity.
As long as you are not shooting past 250 yards or so, 100 fps probably won't make...
Just a suggestion but do you have any spent shells from factory loaded 708 ammo that you could look at the primers on to see if they look the same as your hand loads?

So I have a box of 165 Accubonds to load up in my 300 wm browning X-bolt with a 26 inch barrel. I noticed on the nosler chart almost every powder has a star next to the charge that was most accurate, and in almost every instance it was the lowest starting load that was the most accurate.
The...
Forgive my ignorance but is reloader26 a newer powder? I don't recall seeing it in any of my reloading books.
My 3006 with a 24 inch barrel gets about 2775 fps with 62 gr. Max charge of r22 with the 180 accubond. So you squeaked out 100 fps more with a 2 inch shorter barrel with r26. Not...
Went to the ammunition supply dealer in town. Got 2 lbs of reloader 22 from the same lot. That should last a while.
Federal 215 primers are an endangered species apparently. I grabbed 2 boxes of cci250s as a substitute. Those should work right? What is the best primer for 300 win mag? The...
Thanks for the tip. Guess I need to get a cat now too... Off to the ammo and powder distributer tomorrow. Thanks to our NY governor we cant ship much here from the internet anymore.

I don't shoot a huge volume. Should I see about a couple 1 lb cans with same lot number? What is the usual shelf life of the r22?
Thanks for all the help everyone. Since I primarily use r22 in my 7mm and 3006, it would be great if I could get all three guns using the same powder.

Is this the ladder test you mentioned? I've always reloaded for hunting not match, so this is a new concept for me. One more thing to read up on.

I use reloader 22 in my 7mm and 3006. I have shot them from 20 degrees to 80 degrees and 1000 ft to 12000 ft elevation and didn't notice any difference in hunting accuracy. Although I guess now I need to read up on how temp affects certain powders.
Once I give a few a try, I'll report back...
