    Look what I found

Sorting through some brass and bullets and doing a little organizing. Unfortunately the top of the box has duct tape over it. It would’ve made a nice display box.

    Retirement!

Nicely done! Looking forward to the next 2 years as I’m in my retirement window. I haven’t spoken to anyone yet that has regretted it.

    Food for thought

By any standard they were all an abysmal failure on those days, but truth is the bullets used were the biggest culprits. well stated Shadetree. Ironically that’s the very reason this particular forum exists. Had it not been for bullet failure, Nosler itself may not exist and we wouldn’t...

    Best tasting African meats

I really enjoyed some hippo that was prepared for us. It was taken by a South Dakota Hunter a day or two before we had it.

    2023 Hunting Season

Guy, great way to fill the freezer! Sounds like a tougher hunt but it sure paid dividends in the end.

An old man and his rifle

I watched a couple of minutes of it. I’ll watch the rest on my TV. 7x57 is my favorite and I have 2 of them in No. 1’s. Without watching anymore I’m sure I’ll like the video.

    1-1-2023 Lion!!!

Pretty cool hunt! Nice you checked one off the bucket list. I’ve seen a few cats over the years and even while hunting but never had the chance to take one. Nice job!!

    Effectiveness of the 35 Remington.

I really screwed up. Several years ago Grandad had a Marlin with the waffle top receiver(before they were drilled and tapped for scope mounts) in a .35 Rem. I even killed deer with it. It had the 3/4 length magazine tube. I should have horse traded for it or bought it but I didn’t have...

165 Ballistic Tip vs. 165 Accubond

I think you’d be hard pressed to find much game that could stand up to either bullet in the’06. I started with 200 grain AB’s in my .300 WSM because I couldn’t find any 180’s. When I did I started loading those in my ‘06. I’ve since gone to the 180’s in the WSM and 165’s in the ‘06. I’m...

    Ruger No.1

I was fortunate on my first one. I attended an armorers class for the Ruger Mini-14 and received a certificate to buy any Ruger at a significantly reduced price. I chose the .30-06 and I think it was around $550. It was an accurate rifle and I took a Wyoming doe Antelope with it. I was in...

    Ruger No.1

I got lucky with mine. It will put 4 rounds of hand loaded 140 BT’s or Partitions under an inch at 100 so I was just tickled with that. Only fired once at an Antelope I took but I’d love to do some more hunting with it. When I went to Africa the 8 animals I took were all under 150 yards And...

Winchester 70 push feed ejection issue

Just thinking out loud, does the extractor have a spring? I would think it should, unless it’s based On tension. When the AR’s at work have had issues it’s usually been an extractor spring went bad or was weak.

Shooting a 140 BT out of it. I’d have to look at my book but I think 2625 fps sounds about right. Leupold 1-4x20 with a German no 1 reticle. Fitting for a Ruger No. 1…
