This 225 grain Partition was found in the bottom of the 6th jug. It was pushed by 67 grains of RL-17 in a 35 Whelen.
Recovered weight is 149.1g 66.3%. Expanded to .654
I think you will see the most benefit from the RL33 as the bullets get heavier.. 168's and 175's..
If you ever plan to use lighter than a 160, you can't stuff enough 33 in the case to load it full house.
Scotty, I ran an Amax into the jugs yesterday too.
Mine did not seem to fair as well as yours.
I set it on the scale and recall it to be in the mid 40 grain weight range.
Ran a couple speer 130 grain hot cores into the jugs while I was testing the 132 BBC. Same basic setup, 7WSM, 3375 fps at 20 yards. both found in jug 3, one cracked the 4th jug.
One weighed 46.5 grains and the other 44.0.. Total weight retained 33-35%.. May be better suited for my 7-08 than the...
I shot a 132 grain BBC into the jugs yesterday so Scotty would get off my back.. he is a big dude to have to carry.
out of the 7WSM it left the barrel at approx. 3375fps, struck the jugs at about 20 yards and was recovered in the 4th.
the recovered weight was 97.1 grains for a retained weight...
Ditto to what Vince said. Let it warm up for 30+ minutes and she will perform a lot better. I use a lot of course cut powder (RL-33) and the straw in the dispensing tube works like a champ...
I wouldn't tell this to the "Jerk"... but I use 5/16" brazing rods as replacement chrony arms and actually prefer them over the OEM jointed ones.. Very cheap replacements...
I ran a 140 BT into the jugs today out of a 7Rem Mag. It was a mid range load, approx. 2900 fps.
I was a little surprised, it exited jug#4 and was found on the table between 4 and 5. It weighed 83g as found, for a total of 59% weight retention.

I load for a friends 22-250. His daughter uses it to shoot hogs in N. Florida.
I have in the past loaded 53G Barnes TSX's and 60 grain Partitions for him and he said he preferred the on game performance of the 60 PT.
I picked up a couple boxes of 64 BSB's recently and he was low on ammo so I...
Had the opportunity to shoot a Hornady 139Grain SST into the jugs recently. It did make it into the 4th jug. Did not Chrono the load. Draw your own conclusions. recovered weight 60.2grains (with separated core). 43% weight retained.
I did not get a chance to chrono this load, but I ran one into the jugs yesterday. It is a 250 Grain, Super HammerHead by Sako. This Bullet exited the 6th jug, and bounced off of #7.. It weighed 202.1 recovered for 80% weight retention and a LARGE frontal area.
Jugs where shot at approx. 20...
I have this 4.5-14 on my 7WSM. It has been solid so far but it is not nearly as clear as my Zeiss or Meopta glass. The eye relief is only fair. It will tag you in the forehead given a chance. $199 is a hell of a deal for that scope.
I had the opportunity Monday morning to deflate a 9 point with the 35 Whelen and 225 PT.. Tremendous blood trail about 30 yards long... Very impressed with this combo.
Tuesday Evening I got the chance to take a nice buck with my 7MM WSM.. About 220 yards, 140AB.. He made it about 30 yards and...
Guy, I bought my 338 for whitetails and the occasional boar hog. When/IF I get a chance to elk hunt out west I may take it. I hunt over a lot of large fields and I figured a 180 AB would take care of anything I plan to shoot with my 338 until I get to take it west. I have not had the gun long...
Thanx Scotty.. She is pretty sexy..
The interbond was the most impressive to me..
The accubond did just as every other one I have ever recovered. perfect.
The interbond held a lot of weight and made a wide mushroom. impressive.
