I shot a 132 grain BBC into the jugs yesterday so Scotty would get off my back.. he is a big dude to have to carry.
out of the 7WSM it left the barrel at approx. 3375fps, struck the jugs at about 20 yards and was recovered in the 4th.
the recovered weight was 97.1 grains for a retained weight percentage of 73.5%.. I found the frontal diameter to be very impressive.

That is quite impressive performance. It is a pity these bullets are no longer commercially available.

Very nice! That performed very well for that brutal test! Yeah that old Scotty gets on you about something and you might as well throw in the towel right away.
David

And why aren't these bullets being made anymore? That is a severe test and that bullet did extremely well.

BTW Scotty when are you going to test those 156 gr Norma Oryx in your 264 WM

Man, that bullet just makes me smile!

Gerry, I have the 156's on my list to test.. I might get a chance to load a couple to run into the jugs tomorrow Gerry... Just trying to get the boys 300 Wby sorted out a little and I have a 160 BBC that I'd like to run into the water jugs at 3200 from my 7 Mashburn Super Mag...

Jake, those 132's would make a 7mm Mauser look real good...

Also, Gerry mentioned it before, but I haven't seen a bullet made today that is a bonded/jacketed bullet without a solid base perform as well as the BBC's do.. They are pretty serious bullets.

I have some 175 and 140 grain 7mm BBC's as well that I plan on running into the jugs as well as time permits.

Lanman, those 132 gr Bitterroot's are pretty amazing bullets, maybe you will be able to bag a deer with them this fall, would be cool.

Scotty, looking forward to seeing how your tests with the other Bitterroot's and the Oryx go.
