Shell Shock 308 steel/nickle cases, sounds too good to be true?

I would not touch it imo. I rather reload the way I have reloaded my ammo using the typical brass we use. Using something new to us is not for me. I'm happy with the speed my rifles gives me, no need to go faster.

    M70 coyote light 243

6 x 284 is nice, not just a speed demon, but accurate. I love my 6.5 x 284 With the 6 x 284, you should get speeds in the 3400+ range with 105-107's.

Brass can make a difference in precision

I do this too. I check both lots by checking H20 capacity as well to see if they are very close in volume. I would check them out again by shooting them at long distances.

Brass can make a difference in precision

I have experienced better groups by switching brass. I use three brands of brass, from best going down would be Lapua, Nosler and then Norma. I have ditched Hornady, Remington, Winchester and Federal brass back in the days for some of those reasons. Some of the other reasons are cracking at the...

    Powder Valley Fire

That is sad, it will be a while before Powder Valley gets back up on its feet. They have been using reasonable prices compared to some other suppliers. Hopefully soon they be up and running.

What did you use to kill your first deer?

It was a .244 Remington Model 760 with 6mm 80 grain Remington soft point. I was young and excited and rode in the back seat of a truck. A friend of my Gramps invited us to hunt on his 10,000 acre ranch. We rode down a dirt road, and a small 8 pointer was on the road and it jumped into the brush...

Help me decide on a new rifle caliber

If your goal is for deer, look for deer 6.5 - 7mm sized calibers that you never had, if looking for an elk and deer rifle, look for bigger calibers such as 30 calibers and up. Heck, RL33 uses a 460 Weatherby with a 500 grain bullet for deer. Kidding aside, he has other bigger critters in...

    R700 223 Wylde @ 1040 yards

That is good shooting there. I don't underestimate the .223 with those heavy Bergers. I have occasionally seen some .223 guys show up at the 600 yard match with their long barreled .223's and outshoot everyone.

    Factory ammo for 257 wby?

Nosler sells Trophy Grade 110 Accubond and Partitions as well. I prefer to reload for better accuracy and its cheaper too.

    Factory ammo for 257 wby?

The 257 Bee has lots of speed, I would settle for Accubond or Partitions in case you hit bone. In my opinion, Ballistic Tips will fragment hitting bone especially from 257 Weatherby speeds, you will be fine with double lung shots, just stay off bones.

    Universal reloading manual

I do still use the websites to get my data, I rarely open the reloading manuals unless I don't find the bullet weight / charge data. I recall a few shooters and a gunsmith tell me " Rely on the books for your reloading data, not the internet"
