    257 WBY & RL 26 quick load

For what it’s worth my 26” Rem 700 257 WB shot R26 sub moa. BUT, I was using 3.40” oal with both the 110 AB and 115 BT. I had shot R22 previously and had found the long oal was where my rifle liked it. (Seated as long as I was comfortable with to insure adequate neck tension. Dr Mike’s QL...

    Fotis, Scotty, 6.5-300 WB

No problem Fotis. If you have actual 6.5-300 headstamped brass would you mind measuring the neck on one of those loaded rounds. Will accomplish same thing as I want to compare to the formed 300 WB brass to see if difference requires neck turning. Would greatly appreciate it!

    Fotis, Scotty, 6.5-300 WB

Slimfinn, trying to step all the way from .308 diameter to .264 diameter in one pass is a little much regardless of your press. If you have access to a 300 Weatherby bushing die use a bushing that’s .284 plus about .030 for neck thickness, so around .314 ish and lube up and run through that...

    Fotis, Scotty, 6.5-300 WB

I know both of you guys load/shoot the 6.5-300 Bee… would one of you mind measuring a factory or a hand loaded neck with a bullet seated so I can use that dimension in building/sizing some brass from 300 Bee cases. I know Saami shows .295 as maximum but wondering what an actual measurement is...

30-06 best loads 180 gr Nosler Part or AB

As Shadetree said, 56-56.5 grs of 4350 …. If the gun won’t shoot that you ve got problems. It s been known as a load that is accurate in any 30-06 that’s a capable gun accuracy wise. Try a couple difference 180 s with that charge weight and let the rifle tell you what it likes!

    Bullet Wish List for 2022

+1 for 25 cal ABLR. If they make it where a 10 twist can stabilize it should sell well. Ideally would have another in higher BC that would work in 8 twist. That market is coming; Berger has 135 Hybrid, Sierra makes 131 gr for Blackjack. Come on Nosler!

    New ABLR 6.5....150gr..

Scotty, my thoughts too. 2800-2850 out of the Swede would make a pretty potent big game round. Hopefully they ll group. Let us know if you get them running under some R26; my Fieldcraft might be ‘listening’ ! :-)

    New ABLR 6.5....150gr..

Another comparison shows 150 Sierra MK as 1.490” in length and a G1 of .713 until 1750 FPS ish at which point it drops to approx .680-.690. Let’s hope Nosler is being conservative on this bullets BC!

    New ABLR 6.5....150gr..

Fotis, I wondered the exact same thing when I got the email. Length is advertised as 1.495” which is about .055” longer than 147 ELDM is so the .630 ish G1 surprised me a little. Hornady advertises .697 G1 and it’s checked out for me when I ve used that and calc d my drops to 875 yds on our...

    110 Game Changer exp ?

Looked under bullet tests but didn’t find any tests/comparisons of the 110 gr 25 cal Gamechangers vs 110 AB and 115 BT. Specifically I ve always shot the Noslers in my 26” barreled 257 Weatherby both running at 3400 FPS +/- and curious if anyone has done any work with the GC as a comparison in...

    300 WM

72 grs of R22 with 200 gr AB gave me 2900 FPS and cleanly dispatched my once in a lifetime ID bull moose. 24” barrel and plenty of recoil. 3.510 oal; work up it’s a stout load!

300 Win Mag 168 TMK accuracy load anyone?

Little late posting but over the years (40!) 78 grs R22 has been real accurate for me in multiple 300 WM s. It ran 3175 FPS or so out of a 24” barrel. Many shy from R22 due to temp sensitivity but in my hunting rifles always did well. Also shot 74 grs of Imr4831 which was a tad slower but still...

    QL Request, 30-06

Thx much Dr Mike... hopefully we can find a 3/4-7/8” moa load fairly quickly. That ll work to 400-500 yds which most likely will be our self imposed limit.

    QL Request, 30-06

Would someone please run a QL for me on the following data? Drew a deer tag with my cousin and he doesn’t load and hasn’t found ammo so I m gonna fire up the press! 30-06 3.380 oal 22” barrel IMR 4831 165 gr Ballistic Tip We re going with the few components available to us. Thx in advance...

    Primers, The New Gold

Joec7651, +1 ! As long as people allow themselves to be taken advantage of regarding pricing then the gouging will continue. Some might say willing buyer, willing seller; and other such logic but I m still old school that it’s still gouging IMO. I was raised hearing ‘ some people have more money...

    Blem question

The blem prices are typically more than the 2nd prices of the major suppliers .... I think Nosler got tired of blowing them out to the majors who were still making $$$ on them and decided to market the blems at a higher price themselves. Good business decision but not a favorable situation for...

    Blem question

I remember getting blem ballistic tips , 100 per bag, as far back as late 90 s, early 2000 s. $8-10 per bag plus freight! The worlds a changing and not all for the good! Hornady did the same through a wholesaler who is no longer around; those came in a cardboard box! In-expensive too. I...

    IMR 4451 and IMR 4831

IMR4831 is NOT a longer grain version of H4831. It s burn rate is faster. It lies between the 4350 and H4831 powders. As others have said it is an excellent powder in a number of cartridges from 22-250 heavy bullets to 300 Win Mag. I ve even had success with it in the 338 WM with heavy bullets...
