Ive used the 143gr 6.5's in my 260 rem for deer, they work well but need to stay off heavier bone, i did have core jacket separation when i hit one in the spine. Not sure how the larger/heavy caliber are. Load development was easy and they are very accurate, both in the 260, and daughter's 2506.
I haven't crossed over but have thought really hard. Buddy has a staccato that is fun to shoot, so almost got the Springfield when it came out just wasn't shooting enough and couldn't justify it. Year or so later a wilson showed up at the LGS and wow I fell in love with the feel but had just the...
Guy,
We've driven through SD many times over the years, but haven't stopped to hurt or fish, usually just passing through. But the Black Hills really surprised us with how pretty it was and the wildlife you can find there. Gets busy with a few bikers in August. Not sure what area you're looking...

So I came across this auction
https://gardnersauction.hibid.com/catalog/614549/february-8th-2025-online-estate-firearm-auction
Some very interesting older firearms and calibers, some I had to google to see what they were
The the first 2 centerfire rifles I bought were 30-30s, an H&R Handi Rifle and a Winchester 94, geez I cant remember the last time I have shot either one of them. I do have some ammo loaded up with LVR and I'd have to look but I think some Speer or Sierra 150's
Looking a some regs from 2019 vs 2024 for Nonresident elk the price went from $905 to $1,048, I have not seen the 2025 regs yet.
They do have a nonresident native for people that were born in montana and still have a resident relative, 2024 price for that is half the nonresident price.
