I found it patterns a little loose at 40 yds with the Federal turkey loads. Will be trying other brands to see if it tightens up. As far as recoil weighing in at 10lbs eats that up.

As mentioned above , load to mag length. If single feeding isn’t an issue for you , then start 0.020” off and work from there. I have many rifles I single feed.

I really became fond of the 416 Wby and 350gr TTSX. This combo has filled the freezer for several years. I like rotating firearms to give each one an opportunity to evaluate their performance.

Can’t argue with those results , that big bore is ready for a hunt.

It’s odd that it affected the bolt more. I’m guessing something is off-gassing in your safe causing it. Does the rust clean up or is it etched in?

ES of 85 in a 308 Win is possibly an 2gr variable. I’d be taking a close look at my scale.
