First two groups with 150 gr. CX in 7mm RM

That load is completely good to go. Even if you were shooting a minute group at 400 (Approx 4"), you still have some fudge room for wind miss-calls

Max distance for hunting? Consistent sub 3/4 MOA is more than adequate for hunting big game, even past most folks max hunting distances.

7 PRC brass life and chamber/die issues

In your research, I would look up and find the dies that best work with Wheeler's reamer. I have my smith use a Wheeler spec'd reamer for my 6.5 PRC

Brass can make a difference in precision

Brands of Brass I use the most: Lapua, Norma, Alpha, ADG, and Peterson. Mainline brass I use the most is Hornady-Mainly because I use factory match ammo for Loaner guns for WY-SHOT, so I have a lot of it

Brass can make a difference in precision

Long-Range...The distance you are competing at or the MAX distance you are hunting at, is the ultimate proof of your load, if the distances you will be shooting is beyond your 100, 200 and sometimes 300 yard load development. For many people, what I wrote above will not apply, as they do not...

    Practice on new steel targets

Winds were 3-7ish most of the time, with 5 mph being more of the average. For awhile it got to around 10ish. We had wind directions move around a bit. Winds from 5:00 to 3:00 were more prevalent. Later we had the wind completely switch, and come from our 9:00ish for around 10 minutes, then it...

    Practice on new steel targets

I didn't make one thing clear, Glenn and I did NOT make these targets. I purchased them, and Glenn painted them. The other thing, I didn't mention, is that with my 6.5 PRC I was shooting extremely light fireforming loads...130's at 2525 or 2535 fps. That is about what a 15" 6.5x47 Lapua would do.

    Practice on new steel targets

Glenn and I got out for several hours not too long ago to break-in a couple of new steel targets that I have purchased for WY-SHOT 2026. Glenn did the painting on both the antelope and the deer. Antelope at 502 yards and the deer at 630ish. Majority of shooting was from a portable bench...

So Glad That I Tried Different Rifle Cartridges & Loads!

It really is just a bit more drop and drift. The cartridges in shorter barrels, shoot slower, but still just as accurate. Not having a buttstock changes things, but not as big of a deal as some would think. I am going to be doing a lot more shooting standing off of a tripod in the next 11...
