Have and use a Past recoil shoulder pad. Also as stated a Limb Saver or Pachmayr recoil pads I've had installed on a couple of rifles has been a big help on recoil.

If you want to try something different look at the Furry line of bullets. They make a 200gr FN in 35 cal. I used it couple years ago in my 35 Whelen and it knocked the socks off a 7pt. Little softer than the Speer 220gr but perfect for whitetails I thought. Dan.
