I run 4.8 grains of 231 with 124's. It shoots well in everything I've shot it through. With 231 it's an all around powder you can use with several cal's. There are newer powders, but its not bad. I also use it in my 45's.
Good to hear about the Irish Setters. I'm looking for a second pair of boots that are a little lighter than my Danners. The Danners are real good but on the heavy side. Been hearing some good things about the Irish Setters
I believe they have a 17# spring in them. I have a Tactical which runs pretty good with that with factory loads. When I shoot a lighter load, I change springs down a little. A new spring won't hurt and could very much be the cause of what you describe. Stove pipes, poor ejection and jams are an...
Got the scope today. It looks pretty good. Comes with 2 manuals. One for the scope and another on how to use mil dots. The shims for the zero stop are being shipped separate.
It's going to be a little bit before I get it mounted as the base and rings were backordered. I'll have to check around.
You guys got me interested last year. I didn't find anything around here so
I dropped my Rem 30-06 off in January for the makeover. Barrel is in but waiting for the stock. Can't wait
I shot a big cow 2 years ago in Colorado with the XP3's and hit her on the run further back than I wanted, breaking her hips. Followup shot was where the first one should have been. Did not recover any bullets. This was with 300Wm 180 's. I think they are closer to the Fail Safes than the AB. I...
Been carrying a Glock for over 20 years. I also have a Springfield XD which I like a little better. You won't go wrong with either. See which you like better. The XD has over taken the Glock as the most popular OD with my guys the last couple of years
Glad that no one was hurt.
About 10 years ago, I was on one of our guys who was high maintence. He had a malfunction and cleared his handgun. As he ejected a round we heard what sounded like a shot from the back of the range. We all looked back and saw a possible candidate who was walking across...
When I was building bows, I was using Smooth-On, a 2 part epoxy to glue the risers together. I used clamps and then had to heat them for approx 4 hours at around 180*, or put some lamps on them overnight. There was another glue that some used but I don't remember what it was.
This may work for...
I have about 15 guys who are carrying them as a pocket gun. Its one of the few little guns that actually works. They have a soft type holster that you can put in your pocket so that you can carry it without printing.
Nice setup. You may have to try different brands of ammo to set what shoots the best. Some shoot better than others.
I had this built around 1990 when the 10-22's were starting to be built up for some rifle shooting. Hart barrel, Lawson Stock, Burris 6x18 scope.
Bottom one the stock rifle with...
