Anyone play with a 36 yet?

Thanks... I always forget about about Kahr and really shouldn't. On my next weekend, I'll take a look.

    Glock for a 357?

Most S&Ws have the model stamped on the frame underneath the crane. Swing the cylinder out and take a peak. You should see it in front of the cylinder. With a bit of luck, this link will take you to a good pic of what to look for... https://www.google.com/search?q=smith+% ... B580%3B480

She is here and she is one BAD A$$!!!

Looks quite a sod poodle getter! In all seriousness, that is awesome!

On the fence with the WSM...

Whoa whoa whoa!!! I'm reading a little too much logic in this thread regarding duplicates and close calibers. Heaven forbid my wife actually catch wind of what you fellers are saying! My recommendation would be to own duplicates of every caliber so long as the 30-0Bland is avoided

Anyone play with a 36 yet?

How's the recoil? The XDs I fired was surprisingly manageable. I'd expect the Glock to be similar. I have to say the XDs was definitely my choice between it and the Shield, but came at a considerably higher price. Sounds like if we're not careful, though, this might turn into a M&P vs Glock vs...

Anyone play with a 36 yet?

Nah... the 30S defeats the purpose as the rest of the gun seems just as wide. I have a 27 that I love, but am looking for something much thinner. I have a Taurus 709 Slim but that I love the size of... just not too fond of it being a Taurus... and a jump to 45 wouldn't be all bad either!

    old inherited reloads 50yrs old?

The flat base that is suspected of being a GS I was thinking would be an old school Sierra, too. I had some (and might still have some) that look identical. They were in the gobs of reloading equipment inherited from my old man and the circumstances sounded familiar. If we wasn't shooting cast...

Zeiss Terra vs Leupold Mojave binoculars

#1 I agree with Scotty... check out Minox #2 Between the two you mention...Zeiss... I haven't run into too much Leupold that has had a bang for the buck that I've liked.

    Need some input, please

Ron, I know exactly how you feel. I am keeping my eyes peeled for a screaming deal on a Marlin. If it happens to be a 45-70, I certainly won't be shedding any tears, but I am sorta crossing my fingers for a 444. I also like the idea of being able to save some space in my bullet drawer and not...

Anyone play with a 36 yet?

So far I've shot an XDs .45 and have been able to do a side by side comparison of the XDs and SW Shield, but nowhere can I find a 36. I'm not wholly settled on a 45 yet in the first place, so a 36 may be out of the question anyways, but I'd really like to get my hands on one before I do. Has...

    Bolt action handguns

Thread's a little dated, but what the heck! I have a Savage Striker in .308. It wears Leupold FX-II 4x scope in their quick detach rings/bases. It is an absolute hoot to shoot! I haven't gotten to do much for load work yet on it, but it seems to run at about 1.5" with my sorry excuse for...

    Glock for a 357?

^^^^^^ Exactly^^^^^^^ You'll likely end up with a solid revolver, but some don't hold the value that others tend to hold.

    44 mag recommendation?

I'm a big fan of Ruger DA revolvers... and SA revolvers... and autos.... and bolt action rifles... and semi auto rimfires... My top choice would be a Ruger Redhawk (not the super redhawk... just always looked to me like someone tossed the barrel on as an afterthought). Follow that up by a...

On the fence with the WSM...

Regarding ammo costs, how much do you plan to shoot? A couple boxes a year wouldn't be a deal breaker for me. Up from there and it becomes quite a factor. I have a 7WSM and I have a 7-08 for my daughter. Neither one will be finding a new home anytime soon. But if I didn't reload, I would have...

    Need some input, please

Call me contrarian, but I have to go with the 257Roy and 444... only because one I have and the other is on my short list. I bought a 257Roy on a Vanguard a year or two ago specifically for antelope.... has yet to speak in anger though. I did think enough of the RoyToy to send my 25-06 T/C down...

Is the Rim Fire Now a Has Been??

Don't know Charlie... we, as a nation, didn't learn our collective lesson the first time around. I'm getting more and more pessimistic. Just speaking on ammo, though, I've bought about 2500 rounds in the last month and sold 1k of em to a friend of mine.... and did so with a fair amount of...

    LH'ed Model 70

Scotty, I'm glad that my son doesn't hop on these forums or you and I would be having a talk about posting links like that LOL!. He saw a southpaw M77 Hawkeye in 375 Ruger (mirror image of mine) at Cabelas a few months back. I never heard the end of it for a couple of weeks! If he caught wind of...

Is the Rim Fire Now a Has Been??

Just an update on ammo supplies, at least around here, 22 is still tough to get, but much easier than few months back. Cabelas has been getting bricks and bulk packs semi regularly and they seem to last a couple hours rather seconds. Sportsman's has had a fair amount of mini-mags lately. Wally...

    Mossberg ATR

They did have a wood stocked version for the same price, and although I usually prefer wood, the synthetic was much lighter and like I said, I was looking for something I could give some abuse to.The one I placed on hold I inspected carefully. There were a few others and I found the one that...

    Mossberg ATR

I'm thinking of giving one of these a whirl. I wanted a cheap beater 308 that wasn't an Axis, Edge, 710, 770, or, and I hate to say this, a Ruger American. I wanted a Marlin XS7 or Stevens 200 or a Vanguard if found cheap enough, but choices seem scarce on those. I ran across a bunch of the ATR...
